I think that people confuse the humans involved with their jobs as employees of companies.

I had the pleasure of knowing Lee as both a friend and a colleague. In literally 100% of interactions I had with him, he was both a tireless advocate for the interests of players, but also loyal to the members of his team. If you see someone as merely their job, then I think you are missing out on a big part of the human being that they are.

Someone who you agree with 80% of your time is your 80% ally, not your 20% enemy. Focusing on the 20% is silly and nonsensical. I'm grateful to be able to consider Lee my 100% friend.

Pretty non-silly to focus on the small % if you were a SNE that got scammed, though

What odds do you place on Lee Jones making the decision to remove SNE/SN though? I would say <1%. All he did was try to put lipstick on a pig when informing the community.

This is one of many things Lee did to prove he was a snake, doesn’t care about anyone except his own job and his employer, just ****ing his employees and doesn’t even care bc he was still getting a chq

How do you make this change and tell us it’s the beautiful software that now hides the extra rake

Back before the poker boom he wrote a book on limit holdem. That was the game we were all playing before the anti-social hoodie wearing, tanking, NL Holdem players took over the poker rooms and turned them into mausoleums. Even though he became a bit slimy when he went to Pokerstars, I'll always remember him first and foremost for his excellent book for limit holdem beginners.
It was the first poker book I bought (sorry Mason).

Anybody with any real responsiblity in a company has had to some things that aren't as pure as driven snow. If it were easy, they wouldn't have to pay you to do it.

It's not like he worked in accounting or something. He chose to take a job that required him to dishonestly engage with the community.

Lee made a mistake. Back in the day he was loved cuz he helped players. Everyone has positives and negatives. I think the dude is A OK from years of helping poker players on this board and elsewhere way before Stars ****ed people.

If you wanna be pissed, be pissed at Stars going public and politicians everywhere being pimped out like a whore for an ice cream cone... Lee just had a job at Stars. I remember many years where he did well before the **** up. LOL

That’s not really true. He chose to take a job with a company that he previously worked for and that at the time of his re-hire was universally loved.

Later he chose not to leave said job when the company took a very different direction and stopped caring about players. That’s a significant difference.

Okay, he chose to keep a job that required him to dishonestly engage with the community.

I don't see the significant difference. Seems kinda pedantic tbh.

How considerate of you! I never knew the guy but for sure he really put in his best efforts with PS! Best of luck to him in his next endeavor.

Lee resigned from Cake Poker in December 2010 citing "strategic decisions with which I'm not comfortable".

Funny how he didn't resign from Amaya after all the **** they pulled.

BREAKING NEWS: Corporate Spokesman Spoke for the Company..... Shocking.

His choices were to communicate Baazov's talking points or quit/be fired

Does the NVG Mob feel the same anger toward the 100's of other PokerStars employees that did not quit immediately when the Baazov hurricane landed on PokerStars' shores, or just Lee?

If you all believe that he was the mastermind (or even directly involved in the decision making) behind all the evil plans they rolled out, I'd ask you to post how you know that. Is this 1st hand info, 2nd? 3rd? 4th? or are you just pulling stuff straight our of your arse.

But yeah, a first level thinker would surmise, since he communicated, he MUST have been the one that came up with all the evil strategies, so he is the Devil. No other plausible explanation (whats the emoji for sarcasm?)

Full disclosure. I don't know Lee, have never met him, communicated with him once via PM in the past. so have no skin in the game here. Just hate to see the Mob jump on someone for nothing other than sport.

Several people expressing a critical view isn't a mob. It's ok, Lee's a big boy.

I'd agree. But, there is quite often a mob mentality in some threads here. Not all posters but some.

Partially due to groupthink, partially because some find comfort in being part of a group (any group). you are correct , they are each entitled to their opinion .

I simply wanted to present an alternative opinion before the pitchfork crowd showed up from the village.

Asserting a company spokesman is a bad person because he spokesman'd for the company is a little odd though.

Was the graphics programmer at Stars a bad person? What about head of accounting? What about the guy in IT you called when your PC wasnt working? all bad people?
