A: I was, but now I'm just Lee Jones.

I wonder why no announcement of this separation was made and what the reasons were for him to finally split with the company he shilled for for so long.

not an expert, but it's falling since June and after it was rising several weeks b/c of the sky bet announcement. and before that, there were a lot of speculations (incl. william hill merger) which also pushed the price in the other direction ... potential cutbacks are most likely related to the debts (can't recall, but i think it's $5bn atm)

Generally speaking, public announcements are not made when a regular employee leaves a company. I'm sure an internal announcement was made and a private party/leaving-do was organized, but why would the general public need to know about this?

Hasn't it been years since he was involved with Stars? I remember back in the golden age of pre-uigea he was the face of the site, then they started signing big names like Dnegs and he went away at some point after that.

I doubt he's going to retire because I think he truly loves the game and will want to stay apart of it.
I don't give him grief for his comments a few years back with the SNE topic. The hard facts are if he didn't say that a few years back it would have been someone else saying the same thing and he would have been let go and this forum would have forgotten their outrage within a week.

I'm guessing he was let go; he didn't quit. Maybe that's why there was no announcement.

Back before the poker boom he wrote a book on limit holdem. That was the game we were all playing before the anti-social hoodie wearing, tanking, NL Holdem players took over the poker rooms and turned them into mausoleums. Even though he became a bit slimy when he went to Pokerstars, I'll always remember him first and foremost for his excellent book for limit holdem beginners.
