Why?

He has no hand in FTP anymore, and does anyone really want this idiots opinion on anything?

You can't give distributions to some and not others.

Well, HL admits that Ray was not qualified to run the company... that's why HL was in business with him for years... WTF am I watching?

Agree with above, he kept saying OTHERS wanted Ray removed and had long reservations etc etc etc...

YOU DIDN'T LISTEN TO THEM.

I am sorry but ignorance when people are literally telling you to your face there are problems is not ignorance, it is incompetence and a huge failure in character and you will get literally zero forgiveness for that.

I'm sure there are plenty of good reasons, but I think it is bs that they are airing it this way.

Max value for them, and more manipulation for us. Feels dirty, like everything else in this debacle.

$70M, and he was very careful to hide it from the DOJ. He did leave ~$15M in the company after BF, though.

@25:30 Howard on there never being any segregation of player funds :

I don' think our regulator was demanding that and there wasn't pressure from, the poker community wasn't demanding that from the company.

The interviewer should have then asked if Howard was aware that some players were asking if player funds were segregated and that Full Tilt had crafted an e-mail and forum response indicating that they were.

If you feel so strongly about it, why don't you arrange to meet HL for a 7 hour interview and take film crew to vegas and film it at your own expense?

Seriously, why bother even watching it if you feel you are being exploited?

I might not even watch the whole series. Certainly not promising to do a full commentary. I'm sure DF will watch it, though.

This part of the interview is covering the beginnings of FTP in 2004-2006. the interviewer asked about the intital deposits and financial structure in the beginning. Asking about a 2+2 post made five years later wouldn't have been relevent.

From the DOJ complaint (not even the one that came out after the interview!):

Quote:
On numerous occasions, Full Tilt Poker’s customerplayers sought assurances from Full Tilt Poker that funds
deposited with Full Tilt Poker were secure and questioned whether,
for example, player funds were held in separate bank accounts and
not utilized by Full Tilt Poker for other purposes, such as
operating expenses. In response to these inquires, in or about
March of 2008, Bitar and Lederer advised a Full Tilt Poker
employee that Full Tilt Poker could represent to players that Full
Tilt Poker kept all of its player funds in segregated accounts
and
that funds would be available for withdrawal by players at all
times. Subsequently, and based in part on this information, Full
Tilt Poker created several form e-mail templates to be used by
Full Tilt Poker to respond to player inquiries about the security
of their funds.

Q: How did Tilt handle the first player deposits? Was there a procedure..

Howard: Nope, nope. Nope, nope, nope...

I mean.. it's pretty obvious that he's going to portray himself as someone who knew nothing about the financials at all because he's not just going to agree to do an interview in which he admits to perpetrating a nine-figure fraud.

He's already framed that in a bunch of different ways--saying that he didn't really help run the company at all except as a sort of consultant, saying that after Ireland he didn't really help run the company at all except as a sort of consultant, saying that in Ireland he was so incredibly involved with helping to run some aspects of the company that he didn't have any time to consider player funds. Then there's the part where he talks about how player funds were kept. So, that's all a little hard to put together in a coherent way.

But, regardless, we're probably not going to learn anything interesting about how player funds were kept from a guy who probably will go to jail if his role in that comes out. I just want to hear what he claims he did with his own $40M+ and his excuse for not returning it when he "learned" that it was stolen after BF.
