No, but the poker world is full of losers who spout your particular line and ultimately lead lives that nobody would look at their infant son and say "Man, I sure hope he grows up to be a man just like that guy, what with all the prostitutes and drugs and gambling..."

OMG u are no fun. Lighten up dude. Preachers are the worse. Soo happy I chose not to have kids, this world, COVID etc beyond bad. Thank God we have poker, music, movies and alcohol. All decisions and you chose yours. Probably a unhappy marriage. Been there done that.

I learn that in every poker game, some make better and one bad decision will hurt your game. Fascinating game! Jason Sommerville taught us that (he invented Twitch). Good luck at the tables!

Layne Flack was always super nice to me. He defended me when David Grey lost his **** and called me an idiot when I made a mistake dealing stud a few years ago.

Wow this is what you get when you just dont pay attention to anything I guess.

This came as an absolute shock to me as I just found out about this yesterday when I was actually in Vegas when this happened.

Look man I didnt know Layne Flack personally or anything close but the dude was a legend how well he played when he could keep it together. And even when he couldnt personally I could relate to it ie his interviews when he wasnt all together.

He was my favorite poker player from back in the day on tv just loved his style.

Normally I am not affected by people i dont know passing but for some reason this is affecting me. I just feel bad and very sad. Anyway I doubt there will ever be another back to back flack rip if that is possible.

Sad news but not shocking...
Yeah, Layne was as drunk as Scotty. Nut nut baby! Lindgren even ignored his high-five attempt when he busted out. Layne always seemed good natured and to be a happy drunk though. I imagine that for an undisciplined person scoring that big during the early poker boom is the equivalent of what happens to most child stars in Hollywood.

Back when limit poker was a thing, I approached a friend playing at the Bicycle Club to ask if he wanted a piece of me in the 40-80 limit game. As he was mulling over the offer, Layne Flack, sitting next to him, flipped me a 1k chip and said "Go get 'em"! I had never met Layne before.

Luckily, I booked a modest win. Gave Layne his share and thanked him.

There is always a reason behind people abusing drugs and alcohol. It's unfortunate people dont stop and listen.

I think the reason is simply that they enjoy doing the drugs and alcohol too much. Or they enjoy doing too much of it.
