There’s so few HS fish, regs mostly don’t battle at all anymore. Not even at 50/100 never mind 500/1k. In a healthy poker economy, everything up to 1/2 would be chock full of brain deads, and at the high stakes there would be enough businessmen spreading the wealth that regs wouldn’t mind spending a random Wednesday night 4 tabling each other at the highest or second highest stakes just for the fun/competition.
But the sites stopped offering ever-bigger games, the HS fish all ringfenced themselves off from the general player pool, and micro/small stakes are mostly full of people who are at least making some effort to win rather than just spazz gamblling.
