strike is cancelled until further notice as alexandre balkany will make proposals
before friday. IMO Balkany is a manipulator and trying to disperse the strike

The thing that will truly make Stars think twice about their rake structure is if the games really are no longer beatable. There will be no long-term regs because nobody will win = less and less and less rake for Stars. If/when that happens Stars will change the rake. Staging smaller and smaller "strikes" isn't going to do ****. Sorry
you would think so, but apparently they dont care that much. 7.5% is just way too much.

What about staging bigger and bigger strikes? How can people here possibly think striking is not effective? 1- Many unaware players will learn about the rake, some will join. 2- Think about what it can do to future regulation plans/negotiations in other countries, if players sends a clear message they wont play with a 7.5% rake and are willing to keep striking.

well its true i dont have to play. You can choose just to cashout and quit playing online poker altogether. Or you can choose to express your concern. If enough people do so i think the players make more chance to have the rakestructure changed: 1 by pressuring the lawmakers, through all the sites, when this arjel law is evaluated.
and 2 by pokerstars lowering their own cut a bit.

If this all fails players can always choose to stop playing. But this is not in the interest of all 3 parties involved imo.

Point is, we got screwed by our own government AND pokerstars. You can chose to help us put some kind of pressure on Stars, or you can just sit that one out.
Posting that kind of crap serves no other purpose than to show how much of a moron you are.
To be fair, the UIGEA was a midnight dropping. We didn't' even have the opportunity to fight the bill until after it was passed (granted we could've seen the writing on the wall). I'm not familiar with how your political system works, but the French poker bill was in creation for over half a year. Did you guys form a collective voice as you are now to your government throughout that process?

in on teh strike.

Coz it can only be positive for the poker community to stand up against the rake. and the fact that there is no more french fishes on .com of course...

Please fellow french citizens, stop being aggressive in this thread. Politicd should not be addressed in this topic.
I am just a poker player who is afraid for his future. Thanks to the Internet, we are willing to show a message to the pokerrooms :

Stop messing with us, we, as a player community, are a force you have to deal with.

In no way, this strike will affect the global income of pokerstars
In no way, this 3 hours strike Will affect your monthly income

Taking part of this strike might only change the relationship between players and pokersite in the future. Thats it.

all the american idiots who are saying no in this thread are just short sighted. if your "land of the free" decides to regulate online poker it will be done in a similar way to the french. It is in everyones best interests to stop this from happening.
