LA Female Poker Pro Found Slain LA Female Poker Pro Found Slain

The "jetsetter" and "high-roller" labels are clearly false.

I didn't know her personally but I probably have 100+ hours with her at the tables (mostly $5/10) from 2015-17. I definitely would not describe her as a "crusher." Someone else ITT mentioned that pros crushing the game would not leave LA and I agree with that sentiment. When she basically disappeared from the LA casino poker scene 2+ years ago I assumed she went busto, because let's be honest no one suddenly just quits poker if that's what they enjoy doing and are successful at it.

None of this takes away from what a tragedy it is, but the false narratives about her probably aren't helping anyone solve the case.

Let's be clear. Nothing posted in this thread has any real chance of helping solve this crime.

If people want to speculate about motives, etc., in this thread, they need to do so with the utmost respect for the victim. Any speculative posts that cast the victim in a negative light will be deleted.

Played in LA for 14 years. LA/ SD is the only area someone can play 5/T+ five days a week. Pretty much every single pro I’ve played considerable hours with over that time has either gone broke or lives a frugal existence in order to keep grinding.

Heart goes out to the family. The news these days is a click bait business. A “high stakes pro murder” headline will get more clicks then a “broke, washed up gambler gets murdered” headline. Detectives do their own ground work and don’t rely on the media for facts so I wouldn’t worry about it.

^Pretty much agree. The mystery is much more likely to resolve as ‘ unaccompanied Attractive young woman’ preyed upon

Not to derail the thread more but people in la will know better than me. I thought she was host of HP 5-10 game and then the game turned into a home game and she was still involved. This was a couple of years ago though so I guess she moved back to Michigan a while ago and was no longer involved in it?
Ive been playing for a living for 5 years and have a grand total of $0 on hendonmob. Don’t even have a page for that matter. Agree with Escobarrr above that you guys should have some respect and stop trying to speculate on reasons when y’all have no ****ing clue. All this bullshit about wouldn’t leave LA if crushing blah blah. The clown a few posts above who says can’t play 5/10+ outside SD/LA more than 5 days a week is off by at least 5 other major cities/areas in the US that I played in last year (hint - one of them is in Cali as well). Most of y’all are ****in clueless and really need to stfu

Hi Everyone:

I didn't know this person, but it's certainly a sad story. Hopefully, the crime gets solved.

Best wishes,
Mason

Pretty ridiculous sentiment that people aren't allowed to speculate itt and should be calling detectives directly. It's not disrespectful to say "hey, I think the headlines are wrong, she wasn't doing well in poker so it likely wasn't a motive", thats the exact sort of content I'd expect in this type of thread. Unless you just wanted 50 posts of "thoughts and prayers!!"

Anyway, horrible tragedy, but I think the information others brought up was useful and interesting, esko is a lil cry baby

There was a blind item online about this with a pretty wild claim. I sent it to the police a week ago.

This blind item was revealed today. I browse CDAN for fun sometimes and was very surprised to see this pop up today, felt like a converging of two different worlds.

What is a "Blind item" and what does it mean? Sorry, don't know anything about this crazydaysandnights site. Whats it about? Who writes it?

I dont know anything about it either but just looking at it looks like a very respectable and trustworthy site that posts anonymous "gossip" and random stuff. I'm sure that police will take it very seriously.

CDAN is the site that broke both the Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey stories, fwiw. Besides that, the fact that the police have punted it to the FBI makes it even more likely to be true.

It’s written by an entertainment lawyer in LA, and the items are “blind” because it’s more difficult to sue.

CDAN reminds me of Vital Vegas on twitter. Gets real tips and leads but feel like they have to keep churning content so they put out a bunch of less than likely to be true rumours also

What makes someone an "A list cardplayer"?

What detail did he "break" about Weinstein, his character was known for decades

I only know about the site because the MSM credited it with reporting the Weinstein, Spacey, and Lauer scandals before anyone else. I’m not an expert; you can just google it.

is the blind item literally just that one short sentence alluding to the mob?

60-year old guy.

Daily Mail usually covers these kind of stories well.

Poor girl and her family. This is shocking and very sad.
