I've never played a live freeroll before, so I have no idea if a service charge for a freeroll is normal, but here goes Michael Eakman advertising another prize package despite previous winners of his tournaments not being paid (including me, obv). This ad is for his club, Mint poker, in Houston.
Is this guy half ******ed? Who the **** horribly photoshops people into the pictures? How has this guy not been arrested for clearly selling a BS scam poker room?
Are these clubs being shut down or not? I have read or heard that they are being raided or at least closed. What's the real story, if anybody knows? Is there a link or thread on this?

A couple have agreed to shut down in Dallas/north Texas after receiving threats from local police, but not really "raided". For the most part they're trying the online poker in late 2000's strategy of "probably but not outright obviously illegal" and hoping local authorities don't press the issue.
MINT POKER does not follow the laws of trying to be legal at all. nothing like post oak. that place runs like supposed to run. Mint Poker takes rake with a webster cop sitting in the room 24 hours a day
