I'm not one for arguments over something of who's the best at anything but bonomo would obviously be in the discussion or on the list of talking about some of the best tournament poker players...

Sun running...he's been a crusher for a long time.

He could potentially never cash another tournament again and probably be able to reach out and get staked by any of the top pros or money men.

He can probably play poker the rest of his life of his credentials and winnings...that's kind of the end goal in poker isn't it?

Exactly, the guy has been around a long long time

Much longer than Fedor and Coleman who had their sun running years

So this is an elite player having one of the best years anyone has ever had. If Mike Trout hit 70 home runs this year we might ask if he was the best ever. And that we be okay, even if he was "sunrunning"

Therefore I deem this thread and question appropriate.

He's been a grinder for years online and live but what makes him playing like a beast recently but not before this year?
He was just as much of an expert last year, and the year before, as he is now. He wasn't recently bitten by a radioactive spider. Variance my man. But if it'll really make you happy to hear randoms say he's the best, then yes, he's the best. Merry Christmas.

maybe, maybe not. you are also kind of assuming his works and plays did not change much over time. "it's just all about variances."

I will look into some of his recent podcast/interviews and hand history this year to improve my tournament game.

Lol okay. There's so much variance in baseball there's no way to ever tell if someone's really good or just really lucky. Look at how many players are great in their 20s and 30s and then they start running at expectation and are out of the game for good a few years later.

lol maybe not the best analogy but you get the point! We would have mentioned Bonomo as one of the best before this run but because he is on a heater we are not allowed to talk about it.

And while there surely is variance we can not attribute it all to that. Perhaps his edge over this crop of players is increasing.

But there are actually some baseball metrics that shows when someone is running below expectation, supposedly Carlos Santana on the Phillies is the best .215 hitter in the history of baseball!

I think Bonomo is the best tourney player ever, and I want to talk about Bonomo being the best tourney player ever. It's too bad that due to the heater he's on (the mods?) won't let me talk about it.

This.

And can someone give me cliffs on the multiaccounting? Because I remember back in like 2006 or so I was looking up ZeeJustin on officialpokerrankings or w/e like every day and amazed at his results. How much does his multi accounting play into that? I'll head to wikipedia, but if anyone could give me some cliffs of their own that'd be great.

I think there should be a single hand of NLH between Bonomo, Holz, Colman, Hellmuth, and Ivey to determine once and for all who the best NLH tournament player ever is.

Putting Hellmuth in that list is actually insulting.

To who?
He's got more bracelets than most of them combined.
