variance and playing well, similar to dan coleman and fedors run (i think now passing them or close to it)

also the obv lolmultiaccounting online and SJW personality has helped him crush the competition

Stop thinking short term variance is an indicator of success would be a good start.

OP, you've been playing poker for 5 years, surely you understand the concepts of sample size and the long run?

I do understand the variances but his run in last 5 months is quite something.
I am wondering if someone follows his hands history and pick up some of his secrets winning so many tournaments as compared to the past.

Nah, the info that you provided is certainly evidence that Bonomo is an elite NLHE tourney player. No one is arguing that the kid has some skills.

No, your post suggests this five-month run shows that Bonomo is the best NLHE tourney play of all-time. Not merely a great player or elite player (or whatever adjective someone wishes to inject), but the best. And that, I'll posit, is impossible to truly prove -- especially based on five months of live tourneys. There simply isn't enough of a sample size, let alone the fact that we never have complete information when it comes to live tourneys.

That's why people keep saying the word "variance."

I do agree there are times he got lucky, like the 300k HRB I remembered there was a hand AT preflop he all in got called by KK and hit the A. (That was probably a 4 millions hand to him) Other than that he's really good at picking up spots and keeping accumulating chips.

I suspect he got a very good idea and memory of how everyone plays in these small field tournaments and exploiting them.
