Jujimufu's statement on Tom Boyden (his editor): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNvOzJb2ux8

From Reddit:

After seeing the info about the lawsuit and the documents, I decided to read them and summarize them for you all.

According to the court docs, this is very bad.

Just to summarize the monetary side"

Tom siphoned over $100,000 to "at least in part" feed his gambling addiction and stake other poker players

Tom was first caught taking $30,000 to cover his taxes in April of 2020. He denied any participation at first.

Through internal investigation, it was confirmed that Tom did in fact withdraw the $30,000 from their Wells Fargo account, specifically for tax purposes. Tom has still not paid it back.

On January 14 and 18th, Tom withdrew money to stake somebody named Shaun Downey for a poker tournament, directly from the Grip Genie paypal.

The total summation Tom stole is $119,459.08.

The total is broken down as 4 loans of $27,000, 50,000, 59,000, and 43,000. The 43,000 was taken out December 7th.

Thats all there is with the money, but there is supposedly more to deal with Tom's personality and the way he carries himself.

"history of aggressive outbursts that sometimes verge on violence"

"lack of regard for the safety and wellbeing of others, including Call in particular" Call being Juji

Tom was upset in 2017 that Juji and Sam were moved into a new home, and he wanted more attention. Tom "stormed around their rental home, slamming doors and screaming at them. He refused to leave until Sam said she would call the police"

When Tom was once referred to as the "cameraman" while filming a video in a Gym setting, Tom "became angry and began yelling"

Tom once got angry and in Juji's face while filming in 2018, and wanted to be on camera more instead of the other way around.

At the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival, Juji and Tom had a booth. Online, people were talking about how they were excited to meet Juji. This enraged Tom, who went back to their Hotel and started "screaming and punching things" including "breaking a bed".

Juji failed to rerack a weight when filming with Alarcon in 2020. Alarcon immediately went to help Juji, meanwhile Tom yelled at Alarcon to keep filming.

Tom went to Erin's house after she denied the $43,000 loan.\He berated her and questioned her business acumen.

When Tom realized he made an editing error in a video, he began punching the Grip Genie office door, broke a coat rack, and threw and kicked **** before leaving.

The court document also expresses Juji's willingness to try and help Tom, and hopefulness that he would change. The time period from December to January proved otherwise.

So Tom is in love with Juji I assume? Why do people stay with toxic people? I don’t care how nice you are, get away from these people. They will only bring you down.

Did not know they had a falling out. I know there were some issues in the past where Tom didn't feel he got enough recognition for his part of the channel.

Tom persona never was very appealing to me. It sucks when long time friends have falling apart like this.

What exactly did he want recognition for? He should have stuck to filming and editing, he definitely didn't have the body or personality to be on camera himself.

Damn.

I'm 90% sure I met jujimufu many years ago at a sports betting conference. Very nice guy. When I became familiar with the juji and Tom channel I was happy to see a fellow gambler do well. Very lame that gambling played a part in the theft. I hope he gets his money back.

lol at the guy apologising, deleting apology video, and looking all set to dispute the matter in court.

Bad enough to scam someone out of 100k, worse again to do it to a friend, and even worse to defend it in court with lawyers and cost them ever more money.

And once again we see the defense of "was in a bad place mentally" etc. If you are in the state seek help from your friend, not their cash.

I only watched a few of "Juji and Tom" videos and the main thing that turned me off the channel was Tom who seemed like a glorified editor who had managed to insert himself into the videos despite offering very little in terms of personality and/or entertainment. Not particularly surprised.

Tom only needed a heavy sigh in the beginning and maybe a dog in the frame to make it a typical YouTuber apology video.

I've never heard of any of these guys until this thread, and still only know what is written in this thread and posted on a couple of other related videos, but here's my take from the cheap seats. For starters, Tom prefaces his side by reminding the viewers that he's the "majority stakeholder [of Grip Genie]" as if to set up the notion that it's completely permissible to yank personal funds from the company. Sure, it's possible that Grip Genie's LLC structure would allow Tom to draw money for personal use. The laywers among us can confirm this but I'm fairly sure that would have to be declared as income on the ledger.

Secondly, the "never intended to be malicious" or "never endangered anyone" means nothing to me. It reminds me of a common discussion in re Full Tilt Poker whether the ownership was nefarious or just incompetent. And I was among those who didn't care: either resulted in F'd up activity, and that's what needed to be rectified. Most car accidents are not intentional, but the person at fault still needs to pony up for the new fender.

Thirdly, the "I'm not a drug addict or a gambling addict" thing is also neither here nor there. You can be unaddicted (which is probably not an actual word) to either, but if you took company money to pay for drugs or gambling without authorization, you're still in the wrong.

Finally, looking at Tom, how stupid must he be to embezzle from a guy who looks like he could crush his rib cage with one hand?? And yes, I get it, Jon Call is evidently both nice enough and smart enough to not want to handle this with physical violence, so I don't expect him to turn Tom into a human pretzel any time soon. But yeesh. (Tom, your boy has 1.3 million subscribers, and they know where you live and what you look like. Certainly at least one of them will not have Call's restraint, and might decide to use you as their personal hand puppet.)

Oh and this:
