Former Nevada Assembly Judiciary Committee expert witness John Mehaffey (Nevada Anti-SLAPP Law proponent) has published a blog calling out what he defines as "meritless thuggery" from WSOP VP of Corporate Communications Seth Palansky and WSOP.com Nevada).
Mehaffey says that tactics used by WSOP.com NV to coerce him and other customers into gambling more go against existing Responsible Gaming guidelines and are a "player retention trick used by old offshore sites to push players back to the tables when cashing out entire balances."
Mehaffey states that Palansky's/WSOP's threats were a reaction to Mehaffey's communication that he would submit a "policy recommendation" to statewide gaming regulators (the Nevada Gaming Control Board) as a result of his issues with the site, which is the sole online poker operator in the state.

EDIT: For additional insight into statewide online gambling regulation in Nevada, here is official testimony from today (Sept 27th, 2018) by NGCB chairwoman Becky Harris before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations, where she testifies how regulators have the ability to "discipline" gaming licensees and issue/revoke formal permits at the Board's discretion.
"They don't have a right to get them. They don't have a right to retain them," testified Harris.
Johns rocks and is full of integrity! His many years on this forum and elsewhere have earned him very high marks!
Thank you. I appreciate that.

One reason that online poker should be regulated is so that there is someone to appeal to in a situation such as this.
WSOP.com is regulated is Nevada. I already submitted a statement to Gaming on the topic. I added the threat to what I had already written.
It appears some issues need to be addressed in the legislature. I plan on petitioning for fixes to make Nevada online poker safer. At this point, nothing can be done there because about 80% of the legislature is up for reelection in November and the next session is not until early next year.

WSOP Legal threat and merit-less thuggery are pretty much a redundancy. Good luck and keep us posted.
