Also, I spoke with Joe briefly about the whole UB scandal junk (when he was all excited about getting to the bottome of it lol) and all I got was more rhetoric and bs and lies similar to those he has posted/written about regarding the scandal.
What would I gain by listening to the explanation of a pathological liar who sold his soul then he sold his father's reputation to help the cover up??
Just my editorial on the issue. It's not about what I believe - its about what I read. And if Jon made this up than he is being a tool but I will give you 50-1 that he didn't if you're game
I've never really been into 2+2 before...but this is like crack! lol
I've had a handful of discussions with Joe in the past. I'm not buddies with him or anything. I can say that from my personal interactions with Seebs, I like the guy. He's done nothing wrong by me ever. He's been cordial and he's been an overall fun guy to have interactions with. I've had brief encounters, but I have enjoyed them...each time.
With respect to UB, I think that it goes without saying that the cheating stuff has caused irreparable damage that because of what took place, how it took place, and whom it took place by, will never pull UB out of that thought of being associated as a cheating site. I find this incredibly unfortunate as I think that there is a place for UB in the marketplace, and I have profound respect for so many of the members of team UB (Guys like Basebaldy, Roothlus, and Devo I consider men that I'd like to pattern my game after for example). But because of the image, I've never deposited money there, and I've never played there. I also don't know that I will because of that image that I have burned into my brain. I think that a lot of players feel the way that I do about it...fair or not...it's just the way I feel.
But this really speaks to a different issue. I'm not a fan of Aguiar taking a DM (which is meant as a private message) and taking it to this forum to post onto for all of the haters to jump on his bandwagon. I'm especially not a fan of him doing so without having first discussing the message with Joe. Perhaps I'm wrong, but it appears as if there was a brief, 140 character DM to Jon from Joe, and then this post. That appears to be the entire series of events thus far, and then the back and forth on twitter with respect to this thread.
I would have much rather seen a back and forth with each party justifying their response after they had chatted this through. And if Jon didn't get the answers that he liked, and determined that the only way to get his side of the story out was to go to this forum, then that'd be ok. But it doesn't appear that this happened. It looks like 1 message (which could have meant a myriad of things), and then accusations.
Let me ask you, do you think that there is anyone on this earth that has lived their life without a single regret? We have all made decisions at some point in our lives which have been wrong, and typically (hopefully) we learn from these mistakes and consider ourselves better people by changing.
In this instance, I honestly don't know where to side. But, I'm willing to give Joe the benefit of the doubt here until I hear him say "Damn right I was threatening him," because my initial read on the 140 character tweet was simply...that doesn't really sound threatening. I guess that closed minded persons who have condemned Joe to being a liar and a cheat are going to skew this to mean the most damning piece of information...but that doesn't make it right...or what really happened. There is more to this story...I'm sure of it.
Whatever Jon's beef is with Sebok (and I'm certain that there is more to their history than anyone other than Aguiar and Sebok really know about), we all have to admit that posting on THIS site would only lead to a reaction by the community like we saw. Most people condemn UB and their people here...for reasons that I completely understand. But I would like to think that I approach things with an open mind, and make my own independent decisions.
Back to the point, I would like to see Sebok's responses...which he's made on twitter to some degree. Perhaps I'll see if he wants to go onto our show and clear the air..so to speak. Not that he has to, or owes it to anyone. But I know that I'd be interested in the response, and I think that many others would be interested in his response as well.
