So Bobby has been coming to the Wynn poker room a couple times a week for the past few months to play either the Chinese Poker game or 5-10 NL holdem game that are spread here regularly. The other night at around 4am he sits down in seat 5 for about 3k in an active, deep-stacked, short handed NL game.

We play a few ineventful orbits while he tells me about a hand he bluffed Cindy Violette out of in the WPT championship event, I joke at him and tell him how bad they both played the hand. A drunk eastern-european kid sits down for 2k in seat 2 announces that he wants to play the 7-deuce game. Everyone but the table nit on my right in seat 3 agrees. Drunken kid proves to be a complete maniac as he raises all every hand he's dealt and three bets nearly everyone's preflop raises.

So here's the key hand: Bobby is on the button with a bit more than his initial buyin, 3.5 k. Drunken kid is on the straddle with his 1.5k and I'm in the cutt-off and have the table covered. I raise it to $70 with KK, Bellande smooth calls on the button, drunken kid 3-bets to $200. I pop it to $500 to isolate the donk. Bobby now tanks for half a min and i'm thinking wow maybe he's got something like AK or JJ and was going to trap the donk's three bet, so I talk. In a weak voice, I say something along the lines of "Come on man, you don't really have anything. Last 3 times i raised you sat there thinking about it the same way." He tanks some more, I talk bit more, he moves in. Donk folds and there's no way Bobby slowrolled aces like that so I snap call.

Bobby tables QQ and when i show KK he tells me that he didn't think I was that strong with the talking. He wants to make some kind of deal, I say, "yea, lets run it three times." He goes, "how bout we just take some money out of the pot." I loled at this. We end up running it once, he bricks and decides to rabbit hunt two more boards and bricks those as well. He askes me if I could send him 1k on FT so he could play a few of the tourneys this week and I tell him I'll loan him some $$ right now if he wants to keep playing. He says sure and i toss him two yellows.

At about 6am and the morning crew comes in drooling at the sight of this game. The donk has reloaded a few times and is playing god awful poker. He doubles 1k through bellande allin PF with 88, flops a set and pulls a super-sick slow-roll as he shakes his head and then triumphantly peals out his hole cards once the board has been completely dealt. Lol, poor JR. The last of Bobby's second buy-in gets put in with bottom two pair against one of the "freshies" top set. I toss him another K, and at this point im packing up from a 10 hour session and tell him i'll be around at the Wynn poker room when he wants to pay me back. He says sometime this month before the series, asks me for my number, we shake hands and im out.

Wow, I've only sat at his table once, but he doesn't strike me as a person I would lend any money to. Not that I would be thrilled lending money to any poker player.
He is pretty funny though, I'll give him that.

He has a book coming out (not kidding) titled Broke and Living Like a Millionaire.

Must be nice to constantly have people throwing money at you.

Weird...played Chinese Poker with him the other night and he asked me to borrow $1000 so that he could play. He won and paid me back out of his winnings when I left. Seemed nice...knew a doorman at Tryst and helped us cut the line.

He asked to borrow the money with such confidence that I never thought it'd be an issue to get it back, but I guess by the responses here that maybe I should've??

Theres a certain trust among poker players. I dunno, I've lent money countless times to people that I barely knew and never had a problem. Ironically enough, the one person that I loaned money to that still hasn't paid me back is a friend of mine.

I'd bet I could go to the Wynn any night and have at least 10 people willing to loan me $1000.

[ ] I'm so good at poker, I can lend out thousands without caring if I get it back.
[ ] I'm so cool that I brag about beating someone and giving the money I won right back to him for free.
[x] I lend thousands of dollars to strangers because I saw them on TV.

Wow the immaturity of this forum is laughable. Allow me to clarify a few things here.

The focus of this post was to introduce myself to the forum (notice, first time poster) by providing one simple and interesting account of the wonderful happennings of Wynn poker room, a place I like to call home. Of course I left out a few details pertaining to the loan I had giving to JR seeing this was of more personal nature and not the main focus of the post. Like i said in the original post, I've been playing with JR semi-regularly and have talked with him one-on-one off the felt several times. He's told me that he's going to make the Wynn poker room his home base because he enjoys the environment and people as well as the stakes (5-10 & 10-20).

Assani hit the nail right on the head here. And yes I would be first on the list to loan you 1k or whatever it is you need, because again there is a bond among the regulars here at the Wynn.

To those who find the post to be a brag I really don't know what to say. I'm a very low key Vegas cash game grinder that believes in revealing as little information as possible on and off the felt. Over the years i've studied the game through the books and forums without ever really contributing. Without the forums however, I would never have gotten to where I'm at today. (I will spare you the details for fear of it coming across as some sort of brag)

So now I thought was the time to humbly give back something to these forums. Inspired by the blog of a Wynn regular, top-notch player and a wonderfull all-around person, I thought I could share some stories of the crazy happenings of the Wynn Poker Room. A salute to Assani Fisher.

Joe Martino

Did anyone see the hand in the HU Champ on NBC where he has A5 and the other dude has 93. Board is like 932AJ or somtn. 93 dude goes allin and Bobby after thinking pushes his stack a little forward saying : if u got it u got it. But he didnt mean for that to be a call. He was just trying to get info. Its like the worst thing i ever saw.

Bobby never has money but is always able to get put into games and tournies. Its such bad business to loan money. I saw one guy call out T.J. in the middle of the Bellagio for failing to pay back a $600 loan. There is a reason that guys like Bobby, T.J., Grizzle, Eskimo, etc. don't have money. Only offer to loan to those that don't need it.

Glad you enjoyed it. "Survivor", I hear that's some sort of televison show. I wouldn't know anything about it, as I do not own nor wish to own a television.
