I favorited the tweet because I AGREE with it. This running tangent about a favorited tweet is an excellent example of the mind-numbing idiocy that is often found in the NVG forum.

The Union President who originally broke this story on Facebook came to 2+2, signed up for an account, and posted in the thread less than an hour ago. But he's been practically ignored as a couple of people try to create a scandal out of the fact that I favorited a tweet that said there was mind-numbing idiocy on 2+2.

If I'm being leveled, then this is some genius-level performance art.
Anyways, in addition, there's no need to comment further on the Union Pres (who comes off as a straight boss, imo) because he has just been given facts. He's gotten a lot of heat for it. 2p2 posters have gotten heat for discussing.

I have nothing against any of you, you sound like a friend the guy needs going forward, and I wish him the best - but the awkward disdain for 2p2 by some high-profile Poker Media is just odd to me.

In fairness, the guy basically said "I'm not talking anymore" so no point engaging him.

Not that I disagree with you but Jay isn't going to have a criminal background from this.

This may be true, but per the President of The Dealers Union OP,

"this information will be processed through Griffin Investigators whom will notify all casinos of these actions. "

Glad you've stuck around to repeatedly express your opinion that you think NVG is full of idiots and your fine with your friend stealing money that poker players gave to poker dealers and you want to let the people here know how fine you are with it. I mean heck. It may not even be true. We've only heard from people that were directly involved in it and only one reporter dug into the story. Can we really trust them?

Everyone else here is just a whining moron for wanting the news to spread out via poker media so this can't happen again. Their anger is misdirected because this isn't newsworthy and the people they're calling out never report on poker related news. Just hand histories and chip counts.

I get where you're coming from. Every once in a while I like to visit the patients at the local burn ward and let them know how fascinating I think fire is. They must not be that bright I guess because they don't seem to appreciate it. But you gotta stick to your guns and drive the point home to help relieve them of their ignorance.

Great job breaking this story to the public, and F those who gave you grief for it.

One question: Why did you decide to delay reporting this until January 8th? He was arrested on December 16, and the whole thing was dismissed through AR on Decmeber 24. What was the reason for waiting an additional 2 weeks to report it?

Not trying to be a jerk, but I've just been curious about this. Was there a point where you and the union decided it was possible you would keep this quiet?

If that's what he thinks, it probably stems from people posting stuff like this:

I just don't get the point of coming here to say what a great guy he thinks Jay is and that he supports him. Especially since he claims not to know the full story yet. I thought it was obvious I was taking some liberties in my response because I think it's getting ridiculous.

If BJ wants to support his friend, which is what friends should do for each other... Then he should reach out to him instead of NVGing on NVG. I'm guessing he's not in the greatest place right now.

This from Jennifer Newell's twitter feed - and they claim they aren't a clique, whose primary purpose here has been to protect one of their own ?

Jennifer Newell ‏@WriterJen
@BJNemeth You're killing them with logic in the thread.

BJ Nemeth ‏@BJNemeth
@WriterJen I can’t wait until they figure out I just favorited your tweet.

Jennifer Newell ‏@WriterJen
@BJNemeth It must mean that you agree with it...and much more. We'll see what they come up with.

.....lol.....so childish. And they call us trolls ?

I think not.

Lots of arrogant poker journalists on display.

Kind of a side note, but this thread makes me wonder what the minimum crime would be for no one to break in with a "everybody makes mistakes" at some point.

You obviously weren't "bookmarking" it, despite your attempts to spin it that way.
And she criticizes Allen for reposting a "public facebook post" - how ridiculous!!!

Allen did nothing wrong and Jess owes him an apology.

I'll chime in since I'm one of the people that used those exact words. I don't know that there's a minimum crime but I think that most people should have a shot at redemption.

When I said "everyone makes mistakes" that doesn't automatically excuse or forgive the action but indicates that there's a path that can be taken to redeem themselves. The harsher the crime(s) the longer and harder the path. Not everyone, especially those most directly affected by the crimes, will forgive though.

I actually believe(obviously could be wrong) that WhoJedi has handled the whole aftermath of this HORRENDOUSLY.

I mean, if he took the lead from the start and right away came on here and apologized, explained what led up for him to do this, asked for forgiveness from the poker community and promised to make amends to the dealers -
there would still be some anger but I think he would be forgiven by a lot more people and the whole tone of this thread would probably be different.

I don't know, just staying silent while your name is continuously dragged through the mud is not the ideal way to handle this.
