Re: Jason Mercier spreads unfounded cheating accusations

I ask Jason: Is OP using a bot.
Jason answer (at best): I don't know for sure yes or no
I ask Jason: Would you play OP on the app
Jason answer: no

I thank Jason and decline the challenge offer from OP. If you want better than this, you have to prove to Jason otherwise. It's on you, not on him.

This will likely be my one and only post about this subject. I don't have the time nor the energy to deal with this nonsense. I'm so tired of people calling themselves out and involving me!

I don't think you have a bot, I personally think you are just cheating somehow. A bot would actually lose to a lot of ppl. Even a bot that plays 100% perfect every street would probably lose to 10-15% of the players assuming theses players are pretty good. That's the variance of ofc as u are clearly stating yourself.

It's total nonsense that you are saying that live is very different from playing on the app... It's almost identical besides the subtle differences u stated which just make u appear like u don't know what you are doing. However, the game plays exactly the same way! If you can play live, you can play on the app. And vice versa

Why I think u are somehow cheating...

-No one beats u on the app (at least that I know of, I guess christoph beat u during PCA, maybe you were playing a square game in front of each other or u didn't have access to whatever computer or apparatus you use for cheating ).

-U can't win live- lost at pca. Lost in Vegas. Lost to Natasha in 5 different forms of ofc live

-Natasha has told me massive mistakes you have made live. Such as playing AA88 in the middle and queen high up top while in fantasyland (this was in your first live session). For those of you who aren't familiar with OFC, 88 up top is worth 3 points... This is not a mistake anyone who has any sense of basic basic OFC could even possibly make

-you are begging everyone for app action. Starting games with every person u can find on the app and telling them you would post just to play. It's my opinion that no one would really do this unless they knew they would win.

-offering freerolls to everyone just to get action. Another huge obstacle to overcome through the variance of ofc, but u seemingly are overcoming it.

-you offered Natasha a freeroll if she would get me to play you. I mean LOL

-Natasha asked to see your app lobby and on 2 separate occasions you showed her and you were losing to no one and crushing almost everyone for big numbers

-you tried numerous times to play me (one of the best ofc players in the world, I think?) just by starting a table and offering some ridiculous bet. Like playing me in poker, which I didn't even know if you actually can play poker. Can you? Seemed like a complete freeroll for u because you just know you will beat me on the app. How?

-was told by a player who beat you on the app, that you guys played on the app in front of one another, and you were 30x slower than the pace u normally play on the app which is extremely fast. He had played you before not in front of each other and lost. This is just what I was told. Have no proof

-all the sudden Jacklyn went from having no money (just what I heard) and playing 2$ a point and losing. To wanting to play everyone, posting large sums of money to do so, playing any stakes and beating supposedly everyone - oh this was after you guys started hanging out... U must be a really good coach? Or u are just playing for her? Or shared your app secrets? Or what?

I haven't been actively telling people that I think you are cheating somehow, I just answer my honest opinion when I'm asked. Which has been by about 20-30 different people in the last year, bc you try to play everyone. How good are you dude? Come play the big ofc games live I'm sure you will crush every session. Waiting in Bobby's room for u dude

I'll stick with my same old story, I think he's cheating somehow and I have no proof. Don't play him. Don't play Jacklyn. They are REALLY good at the app !

Unfortunately, there is no way to prove you are guilty of anything, and also no way for you to prove you are innocent. Before you went public, I was just trying to protect my friends who asked me for my honest opinion.

Re: Jason Mercier spreads unfounded cheating accusations

I want to make it clear that when I stated that playing Jason live would not prove anything does not imply I would not play him. I would definitely play him, but I would much rather play him in a format that proves something. I don’t think that having communicated to Jason, “hey let’s play live so you can see I am not cheating” would have been effective, as his opinion probably would not have changed in a few live sessions had I won, and definitely would not have changed had I lost. Even had he changed his opinion and addressed it to the 20-30 people that he had told, it is unlikely that those 20-30 people would have subsequently told everyone that they had spread the news that I'm cheating to that Jason's opinion had changed. Therefore, the only way to address this whole problem was by going public. Consequently, I propose to Jason we play a 10k hand challenge at 100/pt. Fantasy lands would be considered extensional to each hand. I am willing to go to Florida or Las Vegas to play him face to face on the app. I can interchange accounts on app with him or make a new one. Jason has the burden of proof by telling 20-30 people I am cheating, however, I am proposing this challenge to try to disprove his conclusion. Also I want to make it clear that me looking like a live beginner was only during the PCA, I have played Natasha countless of times after the PCA and I am sure I am up points against her not counting the first time we played during PCA.

ITT: children accuse other children of cheating in a game because they're sore losers. Innocent until proven guilty I say.

It's kind of sick that these kinds of accusations occur in poker games that are completely unsolved i.e. PLO dream machines etc. Let alone a solved game. I wonder how HU limit players deal with their business..

I'll stick with my same old story, I think he's cheating somehow and I have no proof. Don't play him. Don't play Jacklyn. They are REALLY good at the app !

You heard wrong - I was never broke (or as you put it "went from having no money"), reading that made me laugh. I am sitting here looking through all my OFC records. You are correct in that I moved up in the stakes that I was playing over time. I did this for the same reasons that most players move up in stakes: my skill level increased and as a result my bankroll increased.

The very first person I played for $ on the app was at $5/point in July of 2015. By August of 2015 I was already being accused of cheating (which is funny as I was NOT very good back then, but was better than my opponent which is all that matters in this game.) I remember distinctly sitting in a live cash game when a reg told me that this OFC opponent felt that the guy I was dating at the time was playing for me on the app. Another reg at the table verified that he too had heard this. I got upset, one of them said "you should take it as a complement" and I subsequently decided to address the opponent directly. He told me "I didn't really mean that, I was just tilted" and we moved on. (Fwiw, ironically my exboyfriend was not an OFC player at that time. Hooray for misogyny. How could a girl possibly win?)

The only reason I am bringing up this story is because a year and a half later, the same opponent accused me of cheating again, as your rumor had spread to him. He then went on to tell me that if I gave him back everything he lost to me at $10 a point, he would not spread the rumor any further, but that if I did not, he would spread it. (He said all of this in writing, in texts.) I responded that I would happily play him live for everything he lost. He ignored my offer. A couple of months later, he blew up my phone again, calling me a cheater and threatening that if I didn't stop playing "his friends" on the app he would tell them that I was cheating. For the second time, I told him he was welcome to play me live for everything that he had lost... and for the second time, he ignored my offer. Again, all this is documented in writing should he decide to post on here and dispute any of it.

Luckily, the friends of a different opponent who I beat on the app have proposed a situation where we play live (I am leaving out names here as I have not asked anyone's permission to use their name.) This opponent and I have been texting and although the exact parameters of the game have not been set up, it is looking like it will take place in Florida some time after the LAPC. I would hope that his (or his friends') assessment of the game and of my skill level will be posted somewhere so that my name can be, to some extent, cleared from this matter. Unfortunately, it will never be completely cleared as is the nature of this kind of thing.

Jason, you're right, for the most part I will play anyone. There is also a list of people I won't play (I don't think posting it would serve any purpose) and I won't play them because from the information I have, I think they are better than me or that in some cases, our skill levels are similar enough that it would be a waste of both parties time.

In looking through my records there are three people who have beaten me for a semi-significant number of points. As I put in more hands, discussed strategy with others (Fernando included), and found other public resources designed to improve one's game, I felt confident enough to rechallenge these three people. One declined. One accepted and we are currently playing now (I have been ahead the entire time since our rematch.) The third player played me for a short period and then quit, indicating to me that he didn't feel comfortable with how quickly my level of play had changed. I wasn't upset about this as I saw his perspective... so I moved on... and challenged more people, and beat more people, and since Fernando is a friend of mine rumors of him cheating were linked to me. In addition to more than a dozen regular opponents quitting me, much like Fernando, about a half dozen agreed to play me and then backed out (presumably after talking to Jason or Natasha, as 100% of them have known ties to them.) I can't overstate how much these rumors have hurt my action and reputation. Do I think this entire thing is unfair? Of course. But life isn't fair.

Take away point: I will be playing someone I beat on the app live. I am confident in my game and thus I am not going to lose sleep over this.

Additionally, if Jason accepts Fernando's live challenge, I am willing to take side action as I am confident Fernando is a huge favorite to win.

Re: Jason Mercier spreads unfounded cheating accusations

I've been playing against Fernando on the app for small stakes ($1/pt) for about a year and a half. We have mostly played races to 200 points. Over that time, I'm up 486 points on him over thousands of hands. I was up 1139 points before a recent death run where I couldn't make a hand to save my life and ran extremely bad (like 4.5/14/28 on the app for a few hundred hands vs lifetime average of 6.1/21.4/21.3). If he's cheating, I don't think he's very good at it, and certainly wasting a lot of time to lose a few hundred to me over the course of a year and a half...I can't prove anything one way or the other, but that's just my 2 cents.

If you had a cheating app would be pretty smart to lose at low stakes and get a good rep then play regs for higher points and crush them.

Didn't Shaun Deeb also believe some people were cheating on the app?

So Mr/Mrs Mercier come on here and still accuse you of cheating BUT cannot prove in any way that you are, "you just never lose".Obviously they spread rumours to other players killing action and Shaun Deeb for some reason calls your friend out on twitter.

What a stand up couple Stars/Hard Rock employs...I really don't understand their reasoning behind their accusations. It's not kosher to accuse someone of the worst possible thing in the poker community with ZERO evidence.

Possibly.

Or I believe another brands app ABC that first became popular allegedly had holes or exploits in the software that made cheating possible.

It is totally kosher to let your friends know you suspect someone is cheating when your friend asks you if they should take action from someone on the app. Ridiculous to think otherwise. They weren't going around shouting from the rooftops that these people are cheaters and shouldn't be trusted. They were giving their honest opinion to people who asked them.

Of course I would tell my friends, I also think Jason/Natasha are extreme degens and hate losing in anything given their "status".

The point is you can't spread rumours/gossip about someone being a cheater without ANY evidence, makes you just seem like a sore loser.

+1 to sore loser'ing and ridiculous fanboy dickriding itt

evidence of cheating is pretty slim at this point, and a reasonable challenge has been issued. of course the person making the accusation has already pre-emptively quit the thread, so yea. fairly weak.
