I think that's kind of bull**** tbh to expect someone to go out of their way to play you live because you think they're cheating. OPs explanation is completely reasonable and nothing can be proven by playing a live session. Nothing wrong with OP putting the issue out in the open, however, and clearing the air. Now he's putting his rep on the line in public and if he is cheating he's basically staking his reputation on it, which IMO makes it much more likely he's legit and just trying to move forward in a reasonable way.
