It's one thing to tell a couple of close friends about a gambling situation where you think they'd be in a bad spot, but when you get to 20-30 people it turns into something different. You're well into acquaintance territory by then, so it's more about hurting the guy you're talking about. IMO, you don't need much evidence at all to warn a close friend off gambling with someone questionable, but 20-30 people is straight up rumor-mongering and should require a much higher standard of proof.

in the gambling world, calling somebody a cheat is basically as bad as it gets. doing it with basically no proof is basically the lowest form of behavior, apart from actually cheating/welching. at that point you might as well just head over to the online poker is rigged thread. or challenge to xbook in plo tournaments or some ****

IMO OP being able to "prove" himself to be a good player live won't mean he wasn't cheating. He could be a good player, but having access to a source that showed him or enabled him to manipulate what his opponents has or what cards come next would trump all skill.
