I have a doubt: How the players like Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius, etc, did studied the game? I see in some site that Patrik Antonius never study for others, just with analyzing him game. Is that true? How these guys studied? Coach? Internet Forum? Books?

I've read that Gus Hansen locked himself in room, studied for half year and reappeared as full pro. On the other hand Phill Hellmuth was just born perfect.

Tom Dwan has a phone to call his future self and ask what the right play is. There are only two problems (1) he forgets the number 60% of the time and (2) future self is not sure what the right play was, even though he did it.

There's a secret bunker in the woods of Germany where a dream machine shows you how to play the game.

I never understood triple range merging very well until just now. It is when the ranges of future, present and past you collide into one 5x pot shove on the river.

According to Patrik it's true. He won a tournament the first time he ever played Hold Em and improved his game by playing the best players online and learning from them. If that isn't true, and there was intense study (of...something) leading up to that, then you'll need him to tell you.

Poor OP. His question is legit just badly framed.

The game isn’t as hard as people will have newbs believe. You just do a thing, if that doesn’t work out ....do the opposite thing next time. Rinse repeat until lots of things do work out.

Can be applied to real world.

In the beginning there was rec.gambling.poker. There you learned that you could read books about poker. Reading one of those books was usually enough to beat low limit online.

Some had a natural talent for the game that allowed them to climb the stakes. Poor bankroll management also helped.
