Yea, I doubt uberrich Dnegs can beat 100 zoom without a multi million dollar prop bet involved. Broke and Hungry Dnegs would likely figure out how to beat 500z. The number of guys in the public eye who have flourished from the 90s into now can probably be counted on one or two hands.

I don't think it's so simple. There are scenarios where dnegs + the 4 best in the world could still make it -ev for someone else to fill out the table. This has less to do with daniel's abilities and says more about the other 4 pros.

Idk how much props he really deserves for sitting. If he decides to play some real volume then he will get marks for effort. In reality he was likely just playing a couple of sessions with ~house money for funsies while on vacation.

He would also create big buzz and interest in online poker for his employers Pokerstars. By putting in volume and winning, he shuts everyone up for good, but in his warped, arrogant, entitled and obnoxious mind he's already proved himself with two short sessions.

So he will inevitably stay in his safe space, being the -EV reg in the high rollers proclaiming his own genius without proving anything to anyone who knows even the minimum about poker.

Negreanu played super good in the SHR to be fair and handles losing pots with more class than anyone ever, this whole conversation is super toxic he obviously knows he’s not the best at the table , just on holiday and can afford to play 10k for the ultimate training

This game is not fair, people get lucky, run hot and make millions, while other more skilled players get stuck at lower stakes and never achieve anything. If my livelihood was dependent on the nature of a pokersites rakeback policy, rather than my own abilities, I would feel like a complete moron sucking at the teet of a monster.

Entice? How about skill and dedication and a small deposit to achieve those goals, over everything else Daniel has railed against these randoms in the last 5 years, endorsing the black hole Pokerstars economy.

My 2c

It is super boring for people like Daniel with huge bankrolls to swallow their ego and grind PioSolver for hundreds (or thousands) of hours when they don't have tons of incentive to do so because it only helps them beat the niche of world class, uber competitive online games. Kudos to Daniel for spending time working on his game, and being open to using the new tools/strategies available.

Most players who have at one time beaten high stakes for an extended period of hands have the skills necessary to beat 500z... there are just too many recs in the pool and the competition isn't steep enough. It's another thing entirely whether these people want to make the necessary time investment to stay ahead of the curve and beat 500z consistently. For example, I feel like I need to check back in with my NLHE game each year and spend a bunch of hours working to stay relevant; and that only barely keeps my head above water. Plenty of smart, young, regulars are hungrier than me developing skills superior to mine which I can't really keep pace with, let alone catch up with. I can only imagine that's more difficult for a pro one generation older than me.
