Yeah im drunk but jamie gold will go down as a legend imo. The way he won it was great and will never be seen again. will never be remembered for been a great player but the way he won it with the verbals was great and entertaining. I just dont understand the hate. If he lost the money and is broke so what really. He is probally just trying to make some sort of a living but again he done what most wont and won it. And fair play to him. To many haters in the world and espically on here. Grow up most of you. All you see on here is people latching on to the hate brigade. FFS GROW UP.

The hate comes from Jamie trying to stiff his obvious backer (recorded on tape) out of 50% of 9 million. And also him claiming he won via skill, by going on High Stakes Poker and trying to sell lessons at a ridiculous hourly rate. Dude = Scum Bag.

For that one week, the stars aligned just right for him. The good cards, the confidence that followed, and how his mouth actually helped him because of the first two, all that came together into an unbeatable package. Not sure it worked out for the best for him, though.

Gold is A-OK in my book. And I'm picky. If I lived closer to Florida I'd go on the boat to kick it with him.

I heard rumors at this WSOP that there was a major mistake during the Jamie Gold WSOP FT. During the color up process, Jamie was accidentally given more chips than he should have. I'm not sure what this means but it could have been a factor in his decisive victory. Anybody else hear this rumor before? I heard it from a well known pro that I will not name, because it is pure speculation.

Gold won wire to wire was a non factor if that happened

Dude had like 1/2 the chips in play from day 1 and on. I have heard that before as well, I think. But no way did it mean crap with how well he ran.

Gold working on this riverboat is a step up from his last gig.

He was a sponsored pro for Chuck Kidd's PPN, a tiny site that never had more than 2 players playing at any given time.

Pretty damn close. He took the chip lead near the end of day 3. So ridiculously sick that he was able to maintain the chip lead for as long as he did. Dmitri Nobles had half the chips in play on day 2 lol

He also admitted that he was colluding with the "top/top" guy.

Though on the other hand, he is wildly entertaining and I hope he never goes away.

I think 2006 was the last time anybody in that promo left the house.

You ever see those stories reporting that half of lottery winners end up wishing they had never won it in the first place? Whenever I see the latest Jamie Gold venture I think of those stories.

You know who I miss? That guy who used to come in and post that Jamie Gold can't be busto, because he'd already made millions as a Hollywood producer long before he won the Main Event.

Whatever happened to that guy?

Busto?! No chance. OP showed that Jamie Gold currently has a poker room named after him.

It did happen and it benefitted him more than anyone else because he had the most chips to color up. That is assuming he was colored up incorrectly. We know some players were and some were not depending on the supervisor who colored up incorrectly. Either way, it was a slight advantage and probably did not affect the outcome. But he definitely luckboxed the tourney.
