The only level Jamie and I know is the WSOP Champion level, you and Tom can have your cute little Chinese poker story.

I was fortunate to have the chance to play with Jamie at the Hard Rock Casino in Punta Cana. What a nice guy.

Over 100 posts in this thread and this is the only Tom Vu reference?

To the 'haters' in this thread Jamie does deserve credit where credit is due. He does have a Main Event bracelet. That said, I would not pay even $4 for poker advice from him, and I would consider anyone who did a sucker.

It would be amazing if Jamie Gold made the Main Event Final Table this year.

C'mon, that was an entertaining year for televised poker.

I honestly wonder what the people that don't realize that Broseidon was making the most obvious level of all time are like in real life.
Seriously.

No offense, but when that 12 million ends up being in one tourney, that doesn't prove anything. Make it 6 million that really ends up being less than 3 million after settlements, taxes and fees, and it really isn't all that impressive.

I met Gold once and he was a complete jackass and he was playing low stakes at Harrah's of all places.

keep on hating but this is the guy that went from being one of the most powerful men in holywood to one of the best poker players in modern day history, $400 for one days education is fantastic value and I'll be signing up to learn from the best.

Correct.

In all seriousness, I can't help but crack a smile every time I read or hear his name. I think he's probably a better player than most people, but he's just such a ridiculous character that it's impossible to take him seriously. Between the top-top speech, the fiasco with his backer or whatever and the wacky hand with Farha, how can you?

Re: Jamie Gold

90% of the course consists of bluffing techniques, 5% is how to play KK v AA and the other 5% is how to be a top 5 bluffer in the world.

Re: Jamie Gold

I love this thread.

I don't think I snap lol at Jamie though. He actually seems like a nice guy on TV, but it's hard to tell.

I do think he got lucky as all hell, but look at some of the other winners. Cada and Moneymaker seemed more lucky than Gold, but I'd have to go back and watch them.

I think it's kind of sad the way he's ended up. I think he was an entertaining player for tv. Like him or not he completely dominated main event for the year.
