Ya but Hal Fowler was chewing valium like candy, and hitting gutshot after gutshot, misreading his hands. All sorts of ****. Jamie was just a card rack. Could you imagine that guy in front of the cameras playing for $12 mill. He most likely would have died from an panic attack.

holy ****, I'm not going to read this thread or double check other threads for this -- I assume this has been remarked upon many times but it's the first time I'm noticing... Gold is a dead ringer for Stephen Colbert?

BTW, I remember tonnes of legit posts claiming Jamie Gold was a good/very good poker player after he won the WSOP. Doesn't happen any more though I guess.

I think his poker skill is debatable (at best), but his 'Jacks' comment after getting lucky and hitting a two outer, which he then backed-up with a total lack of courtesy, etiquette and professionalism toward an 18 year old 'kid' who flew to Europe to play in his 'first' poker tournament on his birthday solidified him as one of Top 5 All Time Pr*cks as far as I'm concerned.

IDK how anyone can think he 'seems like a nice guy on TV' after that BS. He didn't even have the courtesy or professionalism to shake the guy's hand and tell him GG... What a complete jack a**.

that 18 year old 'kid' made the final table of the PCA super high roller this year so i wouldn't lose much sleep over it. In all fairness Mike McDonald didnt act with much class bursting out laughing towards the rail after Jamie said he knew what he had so that kind of prompted Jamie to act the way he did afterwards but mike was only 18 at the time.

Yeah, definitely not worried or losing sleep over it. (I lose sleep for a bunch of reasons, but Gold's actions aren't one of them lol) And, McDonald did act a bit like a 'kid' (which he was).

But, I still think Gold conducted himself like a complete jack a** and IMO his level of professionalism and courtesy shouldn't have been lowered by McDonald's chuckle. If anything, I would think his professionalism should increase to 'set an example' for the 'the kid' to follow in future events, but I'm a bit goofy like that.

Either way, in my opinion, he came across like a completely arrogant d*ck who got lucky, but acted like it was some 'great play/plan' of his, when what really happened was: He tried to make a play. It didn't work. He got lucky. He talked sh*t and acted like a rank amateur. (My opinion only, which in the overall scheme of things doesn't mean squat, of course, but I'm feeling a bit 'chatty' the last few days, so I figured I'd share anyway.)
