I've not seen anyone else mention it so far, but Jake Cody has started doing a regular vlog.
It's started really well and I hope there's plenty more to come.

I agree that he started very well. His vlogs are entertaining and he has obvious talent for camera work and editing. Excellent concept, showing his whole cards in a live game.

Yeah these are pretty great tbh, way better than most of the poker vlogs on youtube (Only one that comes anywhere near is Andrew).

Had no idea what Cody had been up to after the tournament grind so will be nice to rail this. Seems like a genuinely nice guy as well.

Really enjoying his vlogs so far, another one that is similar and of great quality is andrew neeme's vlogs (who just started recently as well)

Wonder how often people comment / take offense / get annoyed when someone has a camera on the table recording sessions? Obviously usually faces aren't shown but I'm sure there's still a handful of uptight people who insist on it being stopped / complaining?

My guess is never, as you're not supposed to be doing this sort of thing in the first place, so it's probably being done discreetly enough that nobody notices.

What about when the time comes that the someone like Andrew is known enough is Vegas that Bellagio players realise he films the sessions. How do the floor deal with him etc

This'll definitely happen soon and will be interesting to see what the deal is.

In my eyes even when the filming becomes common knowledge as long as identities/faces etc aren't released I don't see why people would complain.

Ev for villains would be they get to see Andrew play hands which he wouldn't show at the time. Gain a greater insight into his thought process.

Ev for floor is more people come to room as a result of semi famous vlogger. Trooper and the linq dealing thing come to mind.

Yeah normally this or the dealer catches it and tells them to stop before players get too upset about it. It's the dealer's job to police it really.
Will watch these later. I think the potential ones from Prague are going to be veeeerrry interesting.

I meant that it could be perceived as a game security issue. I don't think you're supposed to be using phones/electronics while playing a hand at most casinos.

Yeah most places don't even allow them on the table at all, they have to be put it on the table's rail.

Andrew has an interesting style where he shifts focus away to an empty table and discusses a previous hand. While showing the hole cards live is nice and all, the way these guys are incorporating graphics and pot sizes like a televised event works well too. I dont think they need to actually record themselves bending the cards for the camera to see just to show us how a hand played out. If the floor tells them to stop they can still give us the rundown later.

I wouldn't want to be recorded at the table, especially without my knowledge. You can't really be sure faces aren't getting shown, and some people have recognizable voices. I like watching Jake's videos though, so I'm in a dilemma here

Yeah it's a tough one as I love watching live hands but recording them is not the best thing to be doing.

Andrew is already well known in the small 5/10 community in Vegas

Woah this is sick. A little hint to Jake Cody- I have heard several of my favorite you-tubers that videos will do a lot better/ youtube will help push them more if they are ~10 mins long. Check out some of the more popular youtubers that have 300k subs and you will find that most of their videos are 10-12 mins long. Other than that, sick concept, make sure you find time to get sick artsy clips that are asthetically pleasing, and I will stick around

you get longer ads aka more ad money for 10m+ vid , hence why you see people with big channels making 10m vids

Yeah, videos shorter than 10 minutes are not eligible for midrolls, so there's higher earning potential with longer videos.

As for whether or not there's an arbitrary video length threshold that makes the YouTube algorithm love you, that's a subject of debate. PewDiePie popularized that 10-minute theory, and I think a lot of people have blindly accepted that as the conventional wisdom ever since. I haven't seen any actual evidence confirming or refuting it, but if anyone else has, I'd love to take a look.
