I assume Ivey is banned from all MGM properties as well.

Probably Borgata's Room at this point.

If they truly want the pros swarming back they should probably change the name to Guy Laliberté's room.

Wasn't there some expectation that Ivey would play in Ivey's Room at least occasionally if not semi-regularly? Does he even reside in the United States anymore?

Is this the biggest downswing in gambling history after Archie Karas?

First lost FTP; then the divorce (or was that before); started losing online after dominating; then won millions in Baccarat but couldn't collect; doesn't play high rollers anymore; did he at least run well in the games in Macao and other asian spots?

Now loses prestige in Las Vegas properties. Someone needs to do a grand film about Ivey, what a life story!

Many are positing that this has to do with the outstanding and unpaid judgment MGM obtained against Phil after the Borgata edge-sorting litigation. This seems to me the most likely explanation. But is it confirmed that Ivey is banned from all MGM properties? Getting 86’d from any major chain of properties is a slippery slope for a professional gambler, sigh. But after that protracted litigation mess, how could he NOT be 86’d, right?

Did Aria pay ivy in any way? Is it certain that he owes money to the parent company and they want to nuke their affiliation with his brand? Kind of sad to me, I’ve always thought that Bobby’s/Ivy’s room had symbolic significance

i love this 60mins piece with phil ivy where he covers the requests that borgata fulfilled

"...and the reason you requested an asian dealer?"
"Asian dealers deal punto banko the most...and my companion was asian..."
"And your companion you mentioned was asian, the reason that was important to you?"
"because she was a part of my strategy...giving me the ability to execute this advantage play of mine..."
"and she could communicate, i assume, with the dealer who spoke mandarin?"
"sure"

its pretty amazing that he pulled all of this off, even if he doesnt get to keep the cash

Even though the story behind Table 1 is cool, the name is kind of lame.

I would hazard that it will most likely not be named Merson's Room lol

What's the story?

“We thought it was time to rename the room,” said McCormack. “The idea to call it ‘Table 1’ actually came from Elayne [Teitelbaum], our host. It’s so fitting because a lot of players have been calling it ‘Table 1’ for a while now anyway. [They were] coming in and asking if table 1 had a game going or was available.”

Anyone calling it Ivey's Room rather than Table 1 was an obvious fish.
