Keating Not So Cool as Black Busts

Following that last hand where Alex Keating picked up a chunk of Andy Black's chips, it was to be an unpleasant end for the Irishman.

The flop read {8-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} when we arrived and Keating had bet out 4,500 from the cutoff. Black made it 20,000 on the button, and then swiftly called all in to Keating's three-bet.

A real cooler here:

Black: {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for trip jacks, top kicker
Keating: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a full house

Turn: {9-Hearts}

River: {7-Clubs}

"YESSS!" hissed Keating, shoving his chair back and coming just a whisker away from knocking over a waitress carrying a tray full of drinks.

"Well done," said Black curtly, and took his leave.

Keating improved to 170,000 with that, and made his feelings about it clear: "S***," he said. "S*** this is cool. S*** this is so cool."
lol hope this isn't exaggerated

Viktor Blom
Viktor Blom just got moved to table 26 and next to fellow Swede Magnus Persson. The two had a chat in Swedish before playing out a sizable pot. Persson raised from UTG+1 and then called Blom's three-bet from the next seat. The flop came and the action went check-check. The turn came and Persson check-called a 13,600 bet to see the river. Persson checked again but this time faced an over-bet of 49,000 from Blom. He called quickly but mucked upon seeing Blom's . Blom's up 480,000 now and Persson drops to 125,000.

If only someone would teach the guy some bankrollmanagement. He would be the hero of our generation.

We can officially say that, Isildur1 or not (he is), Viktor Blom is a sick, sick individual. Today we’ve seen him overbet five rivers, receiving four folds (he showed a bluff three times) and one call (he had it). Railing his table for just eight minutes, Matt Perry saw him take down three pots in a row:
I found him at Freddy Deeb's table with his monstrous 420,000 stack in a veritable citadel of chips on the felt before him. I arrived as he was betting the turn of a raggedy, rainbow 9-high board – about 12,000 into 16,200 give or take. His opponent to his right (fellow Swede Magnus Persson as it happens) called and then checked the equally raggy board-pairing river. Blom bet 59,000 into the 33,000ish pot and his opponent insta-called, mucking when shown A-A.

The very next hand, Persson raised from under the gun to 2,800 and Blom made it 7,200 to go. It folded back to the first Swede who called. The action went check/check on the 5c-3c-8c board before Persson check/folded to a 10,000 bet on the Jh turn.

Hand number three with Blom under the gun this time. He raised to 2,700 and got a call from an impressively moustachioed American gentleman, who indicated to Blom that “I have a little pile”. Too much information, mate. His ‘little pile’ was about 38,000 as it happens and he preserved it by folding to a 4,600 bet on the queen-high board.

Three hands, three pots. Viktor Blom is the absolute nuts today and has more than 500,000 if we have it right going into the dinner break.
Wow. Bluff Europe reckon he's over 500k now.

Shak Pulls a Rabbit Out of a Hat Against Esfandiari

Posted 3 minutes ago by donpeters

We picked up the action on the flop of {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. The two players involved were Antonio Esfandiari and Dan Shak. It looked as though Esfandiari raised preflop and Shak defended with a call from the big blind.

On the flop, Shak checked to Esfandiari and he fired 4,800. Shak then put in a check-raise to 18,000 and Esfandiari tanked. He counted his stack a couple of times and thought for a minute or two before moving all in. He had about 137,000 in his stack and Shak called with a stack of about 134,000 total. When the hands were revealed, Shak didn't like what he saw.

Esfandiari: {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Shak: {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Shak's diamond draw wasn't looking good at all against the biggest draw for Esfandiari. The turn then brought the {2-Spades} which did give Shak a couple more outs with a straight draw now.

Esfandiari and Shak both awaited the river and then with a bang, the dealer slapped the {3-Clubs} on fifth street! Shak had spiked one of his pair outs to win the hand and deliver a crushing blow to Esfandiari, who just sat there unable to really say anything. He let the dealer do the counting of his chips and he was left with just about 2,400. Looking around the table, everyone was busy picking their jaws up off the floor after what they just saw. Shak is now up to about 280,000 and in ridiculous fashion.

When was you there gordy?

I havent been to any events before, but thought this was a good venue for railing. Not sure why anyone would want to but could get up close to all the players upstairs, Ivey's table was open. Only the main playing area, couldnt get into/see much, but bunch of nobodies playing there eg. your Feldman's, Tilly's etc.

wouldn't it be majorly +EV for full tilt or Pokerstars to sign Viktor Blom, sure he doesnt have to admit being isildur1, just the amount of attention he recieves would be good advertisement for their site.

But i bet he doesnt give a **** about that monthly cheque

This guy is so hot in poker right now, if he'd come out more, he would definitely get a sick sponsorship deal. The speculated taxes he has to pay would be pocketchange then right..

he is still stuck on FTP in total, yes the swedish laws are not based on profit but on every hand played but that way of taxing swedish players have never been tried/applied, however they have tried taxing swedish players for the standard 35% in court.

So, he would not have to pay any taxes if he outed himself most likely, however there is always a slim slim chance they would go after him to make a example him being a high profile.

Although I haven't heard of a single swedish pokerplayer that have lost in court yet and paid anything but tournamentwinnings since ppl are wise enough to hide the cashgame money trail(like putting ut on mb/neteller and cash it from there and say it came from an EU site or whatever since Swedish goverment aint going to mb/neteller and demanding history from their customers and crap.).
