Any word on whether Stars is staking Blom or Haxton at all or giving them a discount on losses? It wouldn't surprise me if Stars decided to give financial incentives to either or both participants (besides the usual sponsorship fees for Blom) considering the crazy stakes they're playing at and all the press that Stars is getting as well.

The match is not a joke; it will proceed as announced.

There is no financial incentive to participate in this match for either party beyond the normal sponsorship fee paid to Viktor for being a member of Team PokerStars. These guys are playing because they want to play, and as far as we know they are playing with their own money though they are able to sell pieces to others should they choose.

And I just want to confirm that all the regular showdown matches work the same as far as financial incentives are concerned (not including any general sponsorship fees or if a microstakes player won a contest to play Blom, etc.)?

I can't say that we would never offer incentives ever in the future, but we certainly prefer not to, and any auch incentive would never be in the form of sharing action, inflating the stakes, or doing anything else that would result in the match appearing to be something other than what it really is.
