Seems like some good changes made overall. Better starting times, more % of field paid.

Finally put a tourney on during the main

So many changes to Main Event this year:

11:00 a.m. Start/Restarts,
50K Starting Chips,
New Day 1 Structure (75/150, 150/300, 25/150/300, 50/200/400, 75/250/500)

Looks good. Too bad the $1M one drop won't be in Vegas. It brings a lot of hype to the Rio

Good:
1.) New Events (not all are listed, just the ones I like)
- $565 PLO
- $1,500 Mixed Triple Draw (A-5,2-7, Badugi)
- $1,500 NLHE / PLO
- $1,500 Mixed Omaha (PLO8, LO8, Big O)
- $1,000 Tag Team (2-4 person teams, sub at will)
2.) Paying out 15% of the field
3.) 50k chips for the Main Event and all other 10k's
4.) 50k Players Championship will be 8 game (Badugi removed)
5.) Return of Monster Stack, $1,500 w/ 90 min levels, MM, Colossus, etc

Bad
1.) Removal of levels
2.) $1,000 Top Up Turbo NLHE
- "This unique hybrid event will play as a traditional live poker tournament, but customers playing and cashing in $55 single table satellites on WSOP.com (or live at Rio) just prior to the event will be able to boost their stack to double the starting chips."

Overall, it looks like they did a good job improving the WSOP this year. However, I really don't like issuing extra chips to certain players based on certain criteria. I will certainly skip that event, but the rest looks good.

So, they give the main more chips then negate most of the supposed value of it by upping the levels.

People seem to want more starting chips--one of those perception > reality situations. If it makes people happier and nothing actually changed then why not.

actually don't like the tag team one but everyone else seems to be intrigued and I won't be in it anyway so w/e have fun.

I like the tag team event...looks fun

Just a bigger headache for the dealer [More chips, especially not stacked correctly = longer to count] which just slows the game down. Strange they would do this after numerous players last year were actually complaining about there being too much play before reaching the money but they decided to pay more entrants while still giving more chips.

I always respected the WSOP for not giving into the stupidity of that temptation, but they've capitulated the past 2 years. 10M starting chips with 25K/50K starting blinds coming soon!

11:00am start times plus the big NL events like Colossus, MM, Monster starting at 10:00am is pretty rough for some degens.

At least that can't suck it up have plenty of 4 p.m. flights to enter on several of those you mentioned.

$550 PLO is a great add. Monster stack is all I can ask for as an amateur w/o ME money (yet). I really hope they've added structure to the ME satellites. GL I'm getting the WSOP anxiety now!!!

Interesting for the WSOP.com "Online" Bracelet event the entire event is played online this year, last year they played the final table live at the RIO, not sure why the change this year??

its gotta be rough for someone, may as well make it rough for the people staying up until 5am on a normal night. recreationals shouldnt have to be up until 2 or 3am in these things.
