The only player that has the potential to change some people's mind about this event is PokerStars.

Personally though, if PokerStars did get involved, I would not gain confidence in the ISPT, I would lose faith in PokerStars.

There's a rumor going that Dusk Till Dawn was partnering. Although they are pretty much a big player these days the only entity I would trust to pull this off would be someone like D4 Events...

Anyway, the D2D grand prix (don't know if they still run it) used to do a £60 buy in for a £100k guarantee, day ones all online, something similar but on a slightly larger scale (BIGGEST TOURNAMENT IN THE WORLD) might be doable.

I can see due to technical problems this years stadium tour will take place at DTD ?

Anyone know how much it would be to actually book a week at wembley? I imagine the deposit would be huge, because Wembley stadium has had it on their website for months. I've been to Wembley... It's pretty damn big.

This is a peak month when lots of shows and football matches happen. It seats 90,000 for a standard friendly match that will bring in nearly £4 million, and a concert will bring in even more (an extra 15,000 standing). Even when nothings booked they take tours of hundreds of people paying £16 each, 7 times a day.

Basically what i'm trying to say, is if (when) this doesn't work out, the company will be bankrupt because of the price of the stadium.

Carfax said on another forum that the tourny will be held in Wembly Convention Center. That's not the stadium I think.

Well they've booked the whole stadium according to wembley, or at least paid the deposit for the whole stadium.

If the same people own the convention center as the stadium it could be an easy way to transfer.

The thing is that May/June is an incredibly busy month for concerts at Wembley, people pay millions to hire out the stadium. The conference rooms are nowhere near as expensive, so I very much doubt Wembley said "meh, you booked the stadium for a week at £500,000 a day, and stopped any concerts happening, but we don't mind you now switching to the £30,000 a day conference room".

Considering Wembley still have the page up, I'm guessing ISPT kinda screwed them over with the booking, and it's pretty clear they orignally booked the stadium:



Also btw, the conference room only has an 1800 person capacity.

If this was created in a stoners mind while sat around drinking and smoking all weekend then it got to Like 8am after an all night sesh and was like " yeah man - we'll rent wembley stadium for 30k players on laptops and then have a live bit set up on the pitch for the top X% then play to a finish on the pitch etc etc"......

But it wasn't and whoever gave the go ahead (after delaying it for a year anyway) needs to delay it for another year and time it around the London poker festival when a few of the tours are around the same time to have any chance at all .

But it's just too big an event without 1000's sattys even then running it would be just impossible without PS behind it

I remember way back when, carfax saying that they hadn't just rented Wembley, they had "partnered" with them, which I guess means they've rented the property at a discount in exchange for a percentage on the profits (if true, the owners of Wembley are in for a surprise!).

Which may explain why this event isn't cancelled yet: if they do, they may have to recompense Wembley...

Think the video is in this thread somewhere. An ispt rep says something along the lines of "There will be a huge opening ceremony and a music festival every day and will be broadcast around the world"

The whole thing is worth watching but he mentions the music festival just after 9 minutes
