The last thing poker needs is more of this crowd.

Only 2 people are willing to take Lock credit exposure for 4 months, .... actually, ...probably misclicks.

Agree, would be good if it succeeds and I really hope it does but it could also be harmful if they mess it up badly.

This has probably been said somewhere in the thread but this has been mismanaged from the start and they seem to be lurching from one PR disaster to another. They initally announced it was going to take place last year which was never going to happen and now they cant find any players interested. Unless Stars get involved (which i cant see happening in a month of sundays) this just isnt going to happen to the scale they have announced. Shame though as I love the concept & agree if could be a much needed shot in the arm for uk poker.

And this is why I don't agree with the people saying stop been negative (even though I'm only posting updates, which mostly happen to be negative)

In just one banner and one one tweet, they show they are still misleading people (worlds largest poker tournament) and they again give out bad information; the tweet says the tournament starts at 6pm gmt, the banner says 5pm gmt.

People are justifiably being negative due to the handling of this from start to finish. Have a read through the thread. Given how the management of the ISPT have acted so far, it is fairly safe to suggest that the chances of this event being even close to successful are very low indeed.

I don't even think Stars could muster up 30,000 runners.

To those saying "stop being negative" - no. This has been ludicrous right from the start and I have absolutely no interest in having BSers run rampant in the community.

To all those saying "don't be negative", that's just ridiculous. This stupid tournament has been a farce from the start. It's important to be realistic and have common sense about things and call out bs and nonsense and hustling in the industry from the get go. There will be some novice players out there who may not be educated or experienced enough about being able to identify all the flaws in this tournament or being able to recognise something that's a scandal or utterly preposterous when they see it. It's important to tell people out there the obvious shortfalls in things in the poker industry because that's how people avoid getting conned/ losing their money/losing their hope.

Telling people to be positive about something that has as much chance of being a spectacular worldwide extravaganza as my nannas weekly foot doctor appointment is utterly stupid and doing people out there who thinks this seems legit, a massive disservice.

Less people would be conned and there would be less scandal rife in the industry if organisers just put their hands up and said "we made promises that we couldn't keep but have realised it's not going to work" instead of protecting their pride and making promises they couldn't keep. It only hurts the lowly amateur player in the long run.

This tournament is an absolute joke. It's not even close to what it was first advertised as. Everything from the whole concept, value, guarantee, dates, structure, blind structure, venue, stack size, payout, tournament type, tournament buy-in, timing, satellites, estimated no. of players, advertisement, people involved etc.. etc.. have changed on practically a daily basis. Even if Stars did run these satellites, the whole concept and structure of this ISPT tournament is so ludicrous and the people behind it so sketchy, I doubt that many more people would have signed up to reg the satellites.

Better use of your buy-in would be to spend it to take a train up to Scotland and look for the Loch Ness Monster. At least how he's been marketed has been consistent.

If you an unbiased look at what the ISPT organisers did or have done wrong so far then I think Barry Carter (co Author of The Mental Game of Poker) has it summed up perfectly in his latest blog post.

The successful satellite was run on Partouche Poker, a french regulated site owned by the family of Prosper Masquelier, one of the event organizers.

This quote alone should warn anyone who thought this could be a smoothly run event, devoid of lying, deception and full of thoughtful information to the poker playing public, they they would most likely be very wrong.

See the catastrophe named the 'Partouche Poker Tour' or anything to do with that organization combined with a tournament.

[Cheating accepted in Partouche Poker Tour (AND I WOULD'VE GOTTEN AWAY WITH IT TOO)]

If you see the words Partouche and Tourmament paired together, you should run for the hills.

They must have done something about the satellites on 770. The 2euro rebuy that has been getting cancelled everyday had 198 runners today and generated a seat to day 1.

I'm guessing they gave away a load of 2euro tickets, because between the 198 players, they only made 13 rebuys and 6 add ons.

Tomorrows satellite also has players registered for it.

They run lots of daily Freerolls that give away Step tickets.

Didn't know it was so bad regarding live poker in the UK, especially with already successful tournament series like GPS and UKIPT.

Yes but the same 2 euro rebuy has been cancelled everyday for several weeks, then they suddenly get 198 runners. Makes me wonder why 198 people all decided to play the same day, with a bunch more registered today too.

Most likely scenario - they either started an email campaign (though I got no newsletter or anything) or gave away Tickets to other promos before. Now that the ISPT Satellites never took off, they changed the Tokens that can be won in the daily Freerolls.
