Yep, may a well play some online tournies at home and if successful buy into an existing live tournament.

I watched there preview again and looked over their web site. I did a lot of thinking of what they have to do to make this work. I do like the idea of playing in a stadium. Having a online then live event all at one place is interesting.

1: Lower the guarantee to 5 million eruos and make that for the main event.



2: Partner with a on line poker room, say 888. use their softwear to run the event Players would have to download the software before the event to make sure there are no problems.


3; When the players play the first couple of days, the ISTP staff would have to control the seating area where they play. Only put players in every second row so there is never another player looking over your shoudler.

4: have staff at every section to keep out the bystanders and players that have been beat out.

5: settle the amount of rebuys inadvance.

ISPT can't possibly think the 10,000 players that are usually at the Rio during this time of year are going to just skip the first week of the WSOP and go to this instead.

Would be interesting to see the WSOP schedule the 50k players championship for this week and see which event defending 50k champ and ISPT ambassador Mizrachi chooses.

But 20 mil? 30 thousand player? Isn't it just wishful? And the stands should just be filled with people? Doing what?

Better yet, make it a freeze-out.

They're going to need a lot of satellite winners to fill all those seats, but you're not going to get a lot of small bankroll amateurs to play sats if they know that, if they win a 600€ ticket, they're going to have to pay for the rebuy(s) and add-ons themselves.

I think you're going to get a lot more people playing a 200€ satellite into a 1800€ or 2000€ event than a 100€ satellite into a 600€ R/A.

Of all the dumb ideas of the ISPT, this one is most easily fixed.

Added benefits:
- Bigger prizepool, because with a 600€ R/A there's bound to be players who are on only one bullet.
- Nobody's going to mind the rake: taking 180€ rake out of a 600€ buy in is ridiculous, taking the same rake out of a 1800€ buy in is almost normal.

I imagine he will choose the one that is giving him free money.

Impressive squeeze play by Mizrachi, he knows like the rest of us this event will never happen in its current format so he gets to nab the sponsorship money from IST that will go towards his $50k buy-in.

Maybe David Degen can use part of his sponsorship fee to repay his creditors incl FullTilt.

LOL, this will never happen...... or at best turn into a normal event at a casino.

that number on the website isnt the number registered for the tournament. its only the number registered to be on the mailing list for more information.

Where are you seeing that?

It says 3,338 Registered Players. If you click register you have to enter payment information. I don't see where to signup for the mailing list.

If that's the case then it is horribly, i would say purposefully, misleading. "D-255 - From May 31st until June 6th, 2013 - 3,338 registered players" certainly suggests to me 3338 people are registered to play, not signed up to a mailing list.

my understanding is that most or all of these have been through prizes awarded through Partouche/PPT.

The odds of 15 000 people showing up "when the event only takes place when 15 000 people show up" while the WSOP is going on has to be 0.0000001% or something .
