Jennifer sure hasn't had it easy in life. Well I wonder if she had made it that far in the poker world without all these struggles.

About women in poker: She says she doesn't get that there aren't more female high-stakes cash players although women have better instincts. Whether that's true or not, I really wonder if it's ever gonna change. Maybe the thought of spending most of your life in cardrooms isn't appealing to women in general. The same goes for online poker probably.

Common sense dictates there should be more women in poker. To play high stakes poker you have to be like Linda Lovelace. You can't choke on the big ones.

A porn comment in a Jen Harman thread proves we do need more women in poker

Linda Lovelace later became an anti-porn advocate and claimed that her husband at the time coerced her into making the movie. Is that what you want for poker?

Jen is cool. At the WSOPE ME we were chilling at the bar with some cocktails and she came up and started asking what we were drinking (some mad looking drinks at the Empire) and we had a good chat bout the tourney. She was very friendly and just seemed like a lovely person.

Then DN came back and would not come over so she went back to him. Unsociable fool!

Not since she dumped Dennis Quaid for Russell Crowe and had her lips unnaturally plumped up.

It is weird that there are not more top tier women players. I don't get it really, unless there are just a lot fewer women playing and it is all about the math Or perhaps it has something to do with the trouble of having to go busto about 20 times while going up the ladder.

I think you may have a point. You have to have tough skin and a short memory. A lot of women are to emotional for poker. at least a lot of the women Ive been around.

Yet a lot of men have too much testosterone, which is a big part of the tilt factor.

Sorry for bumping a thread that's 100 years old , but as a woman I would like to comment on this.

I believe that the reason that there might not be many high stakes women players is mainly because its very hard to come back to your senses after you are on a drought (for whatever reason.. bad play OR luck). So I feel that it might take away some of the passion for the game.

Removing the emotional aspect is something I am still working on. I enjoy playing live and when playing live it is much harder to control your emotions rather than playing online when you can just curse to yourself.

Men have more addictive/obsessive personalities. Men also may have wider variation in traits such as IQ (though not necessarily averages).

This leads to men being at the top in many fields. But it also leads to a lot of men being losers and misfits.

However, no one complains that there aren't enough female losers and misfits.
