Anyone else received the following email from bodog.co.uk ?

I was under impression that bodog does not really care about local regulations, since they offer service to USA folks

I hope i'll be able to register to bovada now...

I got the same message and it confused me too.
I don't care about bodog but I was afraid some kind of legislation thing is going on in my country that would make other sites follow suit.
I hope it's just a bodog thing though

What if you have less in your account than $10/whatever other denomination? Can you not withdraw that?

Could you ask for clarification about that?

Isn't that akin to stealing? Unless there's some clause in their EULA or TOS that explicitly states "in the event of discontinuance of service..." I can't imagine it's legal (definitely not ethical) to say "the money in your account isn't worth the time/cost to us to repay you, sorry about that". Isn't it similar to a bank telling you they're closing branches in your state and if you don't have X amount of dollars in your account, tough luck?

I've never used Bodog/Bovada so I don't have any vested interest either way, mostly just curious.

Here's an idea...deposit to get your balance over $10 and the withdraw the whole amount. If it's not that important for you to do that, then you can't complain IMO.

Yup, looks like there will be zero ways to play online in the US now, although I refuse to play on Merge or Bodog/Bovada, I worked to hard grinding for it to be in limbo for a year or so.

Bovada hasn't said nothing to USA players, I stake someone there, he hasn't received any emails yet. I think they are just closing the .uk version to certain countries. I have a account on Bodog (I'm from canada) and I haven't had any emails either. Maybe their looking to transfer more countries to the bovada platform.

Basically... BodogUK was trying to get approved by the U Gaming Commission, but that did not occur. Since they don't have a license anywhere in the EU they decided to stop servicing the European market. Bodog UK was "sold" to Bodog88 which is based in Asia (Philippines IIRC - where there is virtually zero regulation).

I am not 100% positive, but I suspect that Bodog will only operate out of Asia and anywhere that Kahnawake supports going forward.

Why the **** do people act like **** is getting closed in the US when there is no proof of it. None of the people who got the account closure message are in the US...so far.

I think I'm also angry cause I'm grinding there and it would SUCK ASS to get a real job for spending/living money.

Because people are all butthurt about Bovada going to anonymous tables and therefore need to take unsubstantiated cheap shots at them any chance they get.
