Honestly the whole thing tilted me. We would play two hours and take a 15 min break. Then i asked the table if they'd be willing to play after the stream and most of the guys said sure then when filming was done all of a sudden no one wanted to play anymore. Maybe I'm just bitter that i had the worst seat and was stuck 25k (which is only 62bb) in the best 100/200/400 ever lol
how much do you get paid to be on the show?

Musk is in full grind mode right now with tons of stuff going on, you'd have to wait 20-40 years until he's winding down from creating new crazy stuff. No way he'd play unless it was to angle getting some exposure to some new project which he doesn't even need to do cuz the interwebs.

Okay, so we can rule out Mike Leah as one of the VIPs...

But seriously, looking forward to seeing this. PAD took a huge step forward in moving from SNGs to cash, so perhaps this is a step in the right direction for the WPT as a TV entity.

Except that the PAD lineups are all hand picked bythe bum-hunting bad regs like Esfandiari and Bellande. Occasionally they'll have a good reg on there like Garrett who's actually good for TV

Bill Gates doesn't even like playing with 5$ chips and he has no reason to play with anything bigger. If he wanted to he could back a truck of cranberries up to the table but why?

Link to a very short blog post about Doyle seeing Gates in a 3-6 game. I remembered hearing about it years ago when I saw posts about it itt, and also hearing of him playing 2-4 live locally in WA a while back in his velcro strip sneakers with holes in em.

Are you saying the WPT cash game line-up wasn’t hand picked by somebody?

He's saying it wasn't hand picked by two specific players who get to play in the lineup they've chosen. Doesn't seem awfully complicated and a nice piece of actual gossip.

Lol I don't think so. "Hand-picked" is a little 2015ish.

Seemed pretty clear he was revealing the lineup was picked at random from the WPT blockchain, using their crypto token.

Right. There needs to be some balance i.e. good mixture of fun players and pros where the game is actually enjoyable to watch. Some of the PAD lineups are Esfandiari and 5 rec players lol

I think it will premiere on Fox Sports/FS1 in a few months.

Hey Art, do you have anymore details?

Lineup was Jen Tilly, Dan Shak, Mike Lind, Bryn Kenney, Olivier Busquets, and me.

The staff wasn't sure when it would air they just said in a few months.

You're talking about the guy who has already given to charity more money than EVERY SINGLE poker player combined. The guy who will probably donate more money to charity than anyone. Yes, sure him donating poker money would be net positive for his brand and reputation. That's so funny.

You completely misunderstood my point.

Another poster made the argument that Bill Gates would never play high stakes poker on TV because he anticipates a lot of negative media coverage. I was simply countering that argument by suggesting that if he donated his winnings to charity I think the media coverage would be overwhelmingly positive.

Pretty sure that poster was wrong about why Bill Gates doesn't play poker on TV. I am sure the media coverage would be positive, just don't agree it would be net positive for his brand or reputation. It's not like he has a bad rap and giving to charity would help him.

Gates has already given something like $40 billion to charity. The coverage around him playing in a high-stakes poker game and then matching the $200K he lost to Bryn Kenney or whoever would probably be more confused than positive, like why is he spending his time doing that?
