Isn't this the guy who cucked Kevin Macphee? Or was it Galen Hall that cucked Kevin and then Igor Kurganov who cucked Galen? What a vicious love triangle. This is just too much cuckery to keep up with.

There was some thread on here that got swept under the rug where Kevin Macphee was crying on twitter that Liv cheated on him with Galen Hall, but he wasn't getting any sympathy seeing as he already took her back for cheating. Is this Igor fellow the guy who cucked Galen? If so what a comical representative nomination, though it has become quite the norm these days just looking at the SHR ambassador lineup.

Will he end up being another negreanu shill type or actually try to fight against his employer/sponsor??

Really enjoy this writer's pieces on PokerNews - thanks for including the link!

Quote:
He will be, in a way, a link between the players and the company. He gets to see proprietary data and, with his reputation as one of the most analytical players in the game, make his own conclusions. But his role isn't just being a spokesperson sluicing statements from his sponsor, It works the other way around as well.

"They've been very forthcoming with the information that they have," he said. "We talked about ways to think about the data and they genuinely listened."

Contrary to his earlier belief, PokerStars was interested in all he had to say.

It wasn't like they were pretending to care just because I was becoming a Team Pro, we went into great depth," Kurganov said. "They appreciate that I'm someone who's very involved in the high-stakes scene and, therefore, understand what the players care about. So far, from what I've seen, they actually care for my opinion and then they have to navigate the situation however they decide to with the added information."

Kurganov has already become a familiar face at the PokerStars office in London. While the word wasn't out just yet, he already went ahead and talked to a lot of the people involved with PokerStars behind the scenes.

"The staff that I met has a genuine care for poker," he said. "Of course, I don't have executive power on any of the changes and so I don't know how much I'll be able to contribute to having things the way we pro players want. But some contribution is better than none."

If the new VIP system is especially horrific and everybody gets super irate at Amaya, wonder if maybe it won't be possible for him to avoid winding up in the same awkward spot as Dnegs did?

Guess that must have been very tempting to be offered corporate support and a platform for his charity.

This might be an incredibly naive question but what does he (Specifically) have to gain from this exactly ?

Guess he's busto ?

Speaks out against amaya's decisions over the past 2 years when it came to vip rework then decides to join them? I can only assume he's busto from those 100k+ mtts or has some sick deal with them through Liv when it comes to supporting his charity.

Even in his first statement he never says that he will advocate for Amaya to change their treatment of VIPs, so whoever is saying that this could be a good thing for poker is wrong, he will do nothing. Basically another hypocrite. Forhayley only one sticking to his word pretty much.

I don't think any poker player with a very few exceptions(maybe Ivey or Hellmuth are the exceptions??) pokerstars signs is going to make any difference one way or the other. Is anybody going to play on Stars because of Kurganov...I doubt very many. Good for Kurganov grabbing the endorsement dollars I guess.

He obviously just got talking to a Pokerstars rep when he was at a party with Liv Boeree and charmed his way into this deal.

He doesn't bring anything to the table for Pokerstars.

I like the fact that Jamie and K Mart are sponsored because they bring new recreational players to the site through Twitch, but no recreational player has a clue who Igor is.

His sponsorship deal is a total waste of my rake at the tables.

And yes he is a money grabbing sell out if he spoke out against the treatment of Pokerstars Supernova Elitesin the past

Remember when they kicked Joe Cada to the curb even after he offered to stay on the team for $0 plus rakeback? How much can they really be paying their lower-tier pros if they'll do that to a young ME winner?

I am once again baffled as to how they let Tonka sign with a competitor, and then make a move like this.

I can understand selling out for lots of money, but lol at Igor if he actually did it for a pittance.
