The “Hypocrite of the Year” award should go to JJJou812 who criticized me for responding to my own post and then the very next day responded to his own post in the huge Garrett thread.


Also the “LOL of the Year award” should go to JJJou812 for criticizing me by stating I was trying to keep my thread going and then he posts 21 posts in 2 days (Aug. 1st, Aug. 2nd) in the huge Garrett thread that was in its tenth month. But I can understand why my somewhat popular thread bothered him. When a person is willing to post 21 posts in 2 days in a thread that already has 18,000 posts they don’t want another thread interrupting their immediate access to their favorite thread.

Gotcha - I personally don’t necessarily see an issue with calling out behavior that could reasonably be construed as being legitimately insensitive, but there definitely comes a point when someone can cross over from being a person with good intention to a sanctimonious douchebag

Those people are insufferable anyway, let alone when you have to listen to them on some kind of live broadcast. If that’s actually how he is now, then I hope he learns to rein it in if only for watchability

Stapleton and Hartigan are the worst ****ing casting pair. How they still have a job when their stick is identical to 25 years ago just shows what absolute minimum of effort PokerStars are putting into their media division.

1. Stapletons unfunny jokes "Hes got more hair than a hippie on Finasteride"..-

2. Stapleton repeating the same joke over and over if he comes up with something he finds funny. On the last EPT stream he said the same joke probably 20 times (not exaggerating) and when chat asked him to stop he would just increase the frequency of said "joke" because of his open distaste of anyone in the chat

3. Hartigan taking any opportunity to go on lengthy, virtuous tirades whenever he sees someone in chat say anything unsavory. Yea there are idiots on the internet who will say bad things, doesnt mean he has to talk for 10 minutes about how "we all have to change if we want to make the world a better place" etc etc. The fact that hes still acting like this instead of just blocking and ignoring them just shows that the main point is to give more air time to himself.

4. The open hostility towards their audience. If someone points out that someone made a bad play, they will without fail call it out as "chat pros" when they themselves are so bad at poker they still cant tell good plays from bad ones after living in the poker world for the last 2 decades.

5. Stapleton used to be a cooler younger guy doing the commentary while the other poker commentators were all older. But now he still does the same thing, trying to act like a cool, younger guy when hes now pushing 50 or something, and its just pretty cringeworthy. Also he seems a lot more bitter these days. Maybe he never got over Liv Boeree, he seemed to believe he had a shot with her back in the day when they were both big names in poker.

6. General lack of skill at poker. If not for them being annoying and negative people, this would be acceptable. But as it is they just offer nothing at all except familiar voices.

They are just in general pompous, condescending to their viewers and bad at poker. Havent improved a bit in 15-20 years of commentating. Probably degraded.

Rant after listening to them over the weekend after being used to other commentators like Nick Shulman, Randy Lew for Triton etc.

I'm reluctant to feed into such a mean-spirited topic, but this would win my Razzie for worst hand of the year.
