Here's another idea... A $1,500 invitational at the end of the WSOP called the Last Chance, or something along those lines... It's for the top point-getters in $1K - $3K events and anyone who final tabled one of those. The fields are so huge it's very hard to go bracelet hunting in NLHE, and this would give people who had close calls a shot in a smaller field. It would also be good for the WSOP and ESPN (or any future TV partners), because it would give some of the young up and coming future stars of the game a chance at more bracelets earlier in their careers, thus making them more marketable later.
On that note, they need some flexible broadcasting of final tables. There are a few every year that should totally be on TV, but don't make it because they only do the Main now. They don't want to just pick Event X and televise it and risk getting a lousy final table, but they can't, for whatever reason, be flexible and wait for a good one... They should work on finding a way to do that. The PLHE event, for example, had a stacked final table if I recall. That would've made for good TV.
