id like an opinion on two ideas - Page 3 - Poker News

I've actually never liked the idea of "let's throw something in for the bubble boy". All it does is create a new bubble boy, who apparently no one gives a **** about.

semi-grunch but by antes I am assuming he is talking about live hands per hour rather then speed of tournament.

either way definately a no though I like the 3 blind idea to encourage more fish to defend oop.

As for the antes. I would not want to see this as a standard change but the idea is interesting (esp in b vs b vs b situations) and might make a good alternate format like in a weekly tourney or one event in a series.

The casino doesnt put us in that position. The bubble payout is created by the players and I dont think the casinos should do anything to influence that.

Not a fan of the bubble payout but if it gets brought up i pay it. (karma)

are there really that many tournaments where the top 10 get payed?? the standard is 10% of the fied

3-blinds would completely change the strategy of the game. i don't think that'd be ideal at this point.

1.) They already do this in cash games. Its called a button ante. The button antes for the whole table. Normally its something like 100-200 with a 500 button ante.

It won't work in tournaments for obvious reasons.

2.) Playing 10 handed infuriates me and all tournaments should be 9 handed as soon as the room has enough dealers for it to be. The only time you should be playing 10 handed is at the beginning of large tournaments.

Isn't your second idea just like the 7 minute abs? The reason I always see something for one outside the money is the game slows down. You always wait until ur one out of the money then do something to speed the game up.
