The late Dick Harmon mentioned a story about an Old Rich Guy pwning another young punk at Augusta National . Story goes, they were playing a low limit poker game and young "new money " punk is irritated at the small stakes and expresses this to all. "Old" Money asks the young punk what is his net worth is. Young punk says 10 million, old man than replies, "you wanna flip a coin for it?" Young punk than shuts the **** up. Dick harmon never mentioned on the radio if he was scared to gamble or he backed out after he saw that Teddy "Iceman" was going to do the coin flipping.

All the other stacks on the table around around 500 to 1500.

Drunken Dave is always pullin' **** like when he wants to put you in he has to pull his arms back then sweep them forward and announce in a big boomin' voice "I'M ALL INNNNNNNN!!!!!" , when all he had to do was put enough out to cover you. He's always berating the players and dealers too.

Al, a local pro has about 1000 in red in front of him. He gets up and heads to his safe deposit box. He gets out $20,000 then goes to the cage and gets 4 cranberries ($5000 chips). He comes back to the table and sits the cranberries on top of his stack.

After awhile Drunken Dave and Al get into it. Dave's got the third nut flush and Al has the nut flush. Dave looks at Al, then at Al's stack, then pulls his arms back and here it comes:

"I'M ALL INNNNNNN!!!! says Dave, sweeping his hands forward. CALLLLLL!!!!!!!! says Al.
"I guess you got me" says Dave. "How much you got there?"
"$20,560" says Al.
"WTF!!!!!" says Dave

Dave is all sober now. He eyes zero in on Al's stack. He see's those 4 cranberries and screams "FLOOR!!!!, FLOOR!!!!!, FLOOR!!!!!

The floorman gets there and Dave screams "He hid those cranberries on me."
"No I didn't" says Al
The floor looks around at everybody at the table including the dealer. "Did he have those cranberries hidden" He asked. Everyone at the table agreed the cranberries were in plain sight.

"Pay him, Dave!!! says the floor.
"(^%&$#&*())^^$&$%())_ " says Dave as he pays Al off.
saw something like this at Commerce 10-20nl a while back - seat 7 has 25K in all chips (mostly white 100s), seat 8 has about two-three racks of brown stacked up tall and to the left side kind of hidden from s7's perspective- has 2-3 bundles of 5K each.

hand comes down SB(s7) v BB(s8) - all fold to the blinds, dealer asks if the SB if he would like to chop, SB answers by raising to 100, BB calls, flop comes J95, bet and a call, turn is another 5, goes check check, river is a K for J955K board, SB bets like 500 and the BB thinks and raises to 2K, SB instantly says "All in" and the BB goes in to the tank and ends up calling the all in, SB shows 2-5 for trips, and the big blind shows Q-T for the straight, SB cuts off about 3K thinking that would cover the all in, when the old man sorta slow rolls the other 15K and says "Shoulda chopped." Dude is like mega pissed at the dealer and starts flipping out, the dealer tried to make the pot right but the guy was so livid he wouldn't hand over any more money - the floor ended up coming over and making him pay up, but like 5-6 hands went by before the sitch was resolved

the moral here: play 10-20nl at the Commerce

I heard this story where there was this rich guy at a poker table and bragging about how rich he was, and an even richer guy says that he will flip a coin for his entire net worth. Thus humiliated, the rich guy slinks away, and everyone else has a good chortle at his expense

i played in B&M's b4 i played online... but i've never played nlhe live.
from stuff i've read in 2+2, the concept of "max-buy-in" doesn't exist for
live nlhe, esp. in vegas...

back when i did micro-limit back home in Cali, they allowed us
to pay 4 table-side breakfast w/ chips[<10$]. I ALWAYS asked the guys @ the table if this was ok...no one ever griped[unless
i got toast crumbs on the cards].

THE WYNN has no max buy in
Bella has a 200 max on 2-5 which made me short and lost 2 buy ins, went to 5-10 with 2k and made 11 thousand......i coulnt get off the felt in 2-5, thanks bella but your buy ins suck.....

The kid was getting so excited about winning the bad beat jackpot, on the river the old guy asked how much the BBJ was and how much everyone at the table would get. Basically don't f with old rich guys in poker games.
pretty sure this is an old poker myth, Micheal Weisenburg has a cool version of this in one of his Cardplayer columns, where the hero Curly catches on to the deck being rigged to deal up a A-2-3-4-5 over A-2-3-4-6 lowball jackpot

dealt a pat wheel, Curly builds up a huge sidepot which he wins without a showdown, then the cheater (who was all in) tables a 6-4 knowing Curly is about to roll over a wheel for a jackpot, only to see Curly throw it in the muck telling the cheater "....that's good...", negating the 30K bad beat jackpot

Kid raises her allin by throwing his 20k brick in the middle like an arrogant ******.

She folds and he rakes in his 80$ pot proudly, then some other middle aged guy at the table sitting with less than 1k goes "Well I guess we can't let him bully the table..." and pulls a 40-50k brick outa his bag and slams it on the table.

Kid left 5 minutes later

LOL

I did too.

Its always funny to imagine the story never stopping. Like the 100 mil texas guy is bragging to a bunch of broke tourney players, then the 6 billion net worth aussie offers to flip him for his role, then some dubai oil prince walks over and offers to flip for $6 billion then Bill Gates bursts through the wall and offers the prince to flip for $18 billion then Warren Buffet comes from under the table and asks Bill Gates to flip for $45 billion and shuts everyone up

it works better if you imagine the process starting at a 1/2nl game where some guy sits with a 1k brick to impress people.
