Streaming in general has gained popularity which is probably a lot of the reason that happened but I will admit the production of HCL is way better. Hustler has the same games outside the stream and amount of them except for the big plo that’s private I thought so idk what you’re talking about about turning hustler around but even if they were more popular it’s just shuffling people from one casino in la to another. I don’t see how that helps poker.

I personally think he brings very little value because I hated his commentary, I don’t want to watch him play (the one hand an hour he does), the games he’s involved in are usually the most boring, I don’t know what his talk show is but from the clips I saw looks horrible and just in general everything involved with him just seems worse then the stuff that doesn’t include him. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe he’s a behind the scenes kinda guy and just when he’s in the spotlight looks terrible. Or maybe he’s a ****ing drag getting propped up by other people doing a good job and trying to take the credit.

Hustler was dead AF before HCL. It was Commerce #1, Bike #2, Hawaiian Gardens a distant #3, and then Hustler was a ghost town. Now Commerce is still packed as ever, Bike is still packed as ever, and Hustler much more busy, usually the third most popular casino and sometimes the second. HCL legitimately gets like 10-100x the views that LATB ever did. Also nobody outside of a niche community ever watched LATB. HCL is very popular and has brought a lot more recs into the game. It's better for bringing recs into the game than the WSOP is now. It has an international audience.

All the games outside the stream at hustler existed and were played with around the same amount of tables before HCL as after it except the 10/20 plo which I thought was private. If I’m wrong please give specifics I’m genuinely interested in what games got more popular because I used to play there. That being said hustler being more popular in la and just shuffling people from the bike or Hawaiian gardens or Hollywood park or even commerce doesn’t really make a meaningful difference about anything unless you have ownership in hustler imo as I said before I don’t know why you’re fixated on that.

Bike was popular again after it got remodeled and usually had a 5/10 going and the 5/5 often played as 5/5/10 anyways.

Bike and Commerce popularity didn't go down or actually went up while Hustler popularity still went up. If somehow all those players came from Hollywood Park that's also a good thing because that room should be bulldozed.

In my experience games in la just shuffled around town and for the big games were just buying time until they got poached by home games but if you’re there now and see something different then I should take you’re word for it and I can see why an influx of new players to hustler is good for poker. Never had an issue with Hollywood park or Hawaiian gardens but didn’t play at them much to be honest. I do miss poker from when I was in la were lots of different choices doesn’t exist like that anywhere else except Vegas really.

I played a long session at Hustler last night so listened to much of the solve for why podcast, which devoted much of the show to Nick V. Like most creepers, once the word is out more stories start to come out.

This thread has lowered my already low view of many of the posters on 2+2. The thought of someone having to endure Nick harassment because they need to keep dealing on the stream is sickening and indefensible yet for some reason people here feel the need to defend him because of some perceived benefit to the broader community.

I do not play as much these days, but have not noticed much uptick at Hustler since HCL got bigger. Many nights the 5-5-10 sits at 5-6 on the wait-list and never gets going. The 5-5 will have 2-3 tables that shrink to 1-2 before it gets very late. Doubt many people have started playing anywhere because they stumbled across the stream.
