The Doc Ellis story is great, especially for pro-psychedelics people like me. The odds it is real are close to zero. But, it is possible because everything is possible with LSD. We will never know for sure. It would also depend on what stage of the trip he was in. In 1970, the acid was still real and it lasted a long time, like 12 plus hours that included a lot of time that was very manageable. Also depends on how much he took, etc. So many questions we have no clue about. I think one would do better on LSD than shitfaced on vodka, but who knows. I love to think it is a true story. And Ty Cobb was not even close to as bad as some people think he was. And I am pretty sure the Babe Ruth story has been discredited a long time ago, although it is also a great story.

I went to school at UC Santa Cruz in the early 70s. There was an annual softball game between one team that was on acid, the other team that was drunk. The team on acid always won.

Highly doubt it. He's 80+, and even in his youth let's just say he wasn't the brightest bulb on the tree.

That is great, LOL. I don't think drunk ever works well in things requiring precision. Also, loved that animation on Doc Ellis.

Howard Lederer did win, that's not going to change at any point in the future. The thing was over once he settled with the DoJ and paid $2.5mil.

You have every right to occupy your mind with stuff that happened over a decade ago, whether it's Black Friday / FTP or Bill Buckner and game 6 of the 1986 World Series. But don't blame others for moving on and focus on their present life and things they actually have an influence on.

Unless shallow graves start getting filled in the Vegas desert the scammers and thieves will run rampant. Outing someone as a scammer on twitter because they played a hand in a non Pio approved fashion is not quite as effective of a deterrent
