The quality of those hours is way more important the quantity of them. There are many poker players who have played 10k+ hours who are not experts, and there are certainly ones who have played 3-5k that have. I dont think the premise of the question is very good.

depends how you define expert. some people itt seem to think that in order to call yourself an expert you must be some nosebleed stakes god which is ******ed. If you beat small stakes poker on pokerstars you're an expert. People call themselves 'experts' on other fields with much less proven results than that.

I'd say about 500 hours of study and 2000 hours of play

Hijack Starcraft is way more demanding than than chess.

There is no concrete number of hours to become an expert.
Some are more natural so less hours to become an expert.
Some won’t even become an expert even if they try.
