How come Johnny Chan doesn't get any respect?

I personally think he's the greatest living poker player. I have never seen him do anything stupid. On TV he always wins.

Is it because he doesn't play on the internet?

Also, do you think it is possible to be a young poker pro these days without playing on the internet?

He is not playing on TV because he is currently filming Rounders 2.

The reasons that come to mind for me are that he doesn't seem to play much anymore, and he's not all that great anymore. That said, it seems to me that he does still get respect from some. Haters gonna hate.

The fact that he doesn't get DISrespect, means that he gets more respect than a LOT of other players. I don't think there's too many people around that dislike him a whole lot.

the worst thing i've seen in this years Main event so far....

IMO he's probably the least dissed guy I can think of, and like someone else already said he doesnt play much anymore so that's probably why you won't hear his name mentioned in the "best players right now" category

if it means anything I tend to accidentally call Jackie Chan Johnny for some reason, so for some of us The Orient Express will always have relelance

I mean he's not talked about much because he doesn't play much, but whenever he does play, all he gets is (very well deserved) mad respect.

I don't think many people disrespect Johnny Chan. I mean, the guy clearly won the game of life and has a ton of accomplishments in poker. How could you not respect that?

The few times I've seen Johnny Chan on PAD, his reading skills were uncanny. Much like DN.

Therefore, his calibre of pokers is probably higher than anybody here will ever achieve in their lifetime.

A lot of people dislike him because he's a huge douche irl, arrogant as **** and treats most people especially dealers like absolute garbage. I don't know him just seen him a few times so thats all hearsay, but I hear a lot of people say it. None of them rag on his pker skills too much though, he's pretty ****ing good all round apparently.
