How can PartyPoker sustain constantly missing tournament guarantees? How can PartyPoker sustain constantly missing tournament guarantees?

Whenever I look at the running or completed tournaments on partypoker, they almost always miss the guarantee, it has been this way for a couple months. Does anyone know how they can sustain these loses financially and why they choose to do so?

The worst of it happens at hi and midstakes tournaments, where they sometimes miss out on 4000$+.

Every single stakes, has the majority of tournaments missing their guarantee.

These are the tournaments that are currently running (post-registration).

Highstakes
3/15 guarantees met

Midstakes
2/18 guarantees met

Lowstakes
3/17 guarantees met

MicroStakes
3/12 guarantees met

Super MicroStakes
0/5 guarantees met.

Come back when you have filtered for tournaments where they actually lose money. That is when they have to cover more than they collect in rake.

Piggybacking off of this:

OP, if a pokersite runs a $109 with $50k guarantee, and they get 499 runners, did they lose $100 dollars or make $4391? This is the first step in understanding your question.

Cheers!

Nailed first point.

Second point, to what extent are their tournaments revenue streams inclusive of satellites' juice ?

Thirdly, what is the net effect of tournament participation on overall site revenue ?

Adding to the other comments...

You are also only looking at half the story/one side of the ledger.

To get a full and more accurate picture, you would also need to take into account how much money PP are making on MTT's that actually beat there GTD's.

Only when you have both sides of the ledger and have balanced everything out, will you get a true picture of the overall state of affairs in regards to financial aspects of a business.

You can't get that picture or simply conclude that PP are sustaining losses based solely on whether or not MTT's are failing to hit there GTD's.

Maybe they can afford it bc their house bots are cleaning up....

Guys, I can do basic arithmetic, can we please get back to the point.

Even with the rake, they're losing money on nearly all tournaments.

Here is the net loses for the highstakes tournaments currently running.
They're losing more money on the satellites than on the real tournaments.

Partypoker is owned by GVC Holdings. That company is LOADED. They don't care for short term profits right now, they want to become the market leader longterm.

That's why they don't care.

In the long run, these overlays should correct themselves. Inefficiencies like these usually do.

Adding to my previous post, your sample size is also too small. You need to be looking at the bigger picture and over a longer period of time.

A limited number of hours, during one particular day of the week, simply doesn't provide enough information.

This is a trend I have been seeing for months on PP exclusively. But since there is no way to display the tournaments for every hour, every day. This is a rather pointless argument to continue from my side.

Please put a lock on this thread.
