Only problem is that the event would look much better if it had its namesake attached (calling the shuffle up and deal, do interview pre event to hype it up, etc) and Chris is sponsored by an offshore American-facing online poker room, so they would never attach themselves to him.

I don’t think that would impede any sort of Moneymaker involvement whatsoever. Plenty of pros have been through the sponsorship revolving doors and still been a significant part of the WSOP presence, and if you’re just talking about a “shuffle up and deal” speech, whatever patch he’s wearing would not make any difference to WSOP organizers I can almost assure you.

I must say, I actually preferred the vibe at the Rio overall if we are just talking about the feel of the event space. What I liked about the Rio was that all the rooms were crammed right on top of each other, so you really felt like you were in the poker center of the universe. With all the space and the split nature of Paris/Bally's, some of that was lost. It's still a better location simply due to the easy strip access, but purely from a venue standpoint I liked the Rio convention center more.

The great benefit of the Rio was ample parking. For example, DN could go "all loosey-goosey eating a sandwich" in his palatial RV parked out back, instead of at the table.

Mike Caro would win his first gold bracelet. That guy figured out 5 card draw strategy to where he became the Magnus Carlson of 1970s and early 1980s Gardena poker.

He is lightyears ahead of anybody in the poker world today when it comes to 5 card draw.

WSOP schedule release told about WSOP23 discount code for rooms at caesars.com . Unable to get it to work online for Bally's, called and person said code would be available in January. Not sure if I believe that since why wouldn't article have said this. Anybody else successful or comments?
