Yes O8 is more popular than stud or limit hold em at the WSOP. Definitely been the trend the last decade or so during the WSOP (if not longer).
At casinos for cash, you're almost never going to find a stud only table (I believe there's one at Sycuan in San Diego where the old timers play like $6/$12 or some small stakes). Maybe on the east coast you can find some stud only tables? As for limit hold em and O8, usually limit hold em will have more tables running but O8 is still pretty popular for cash tables.
