lol stevesung had 4% equity in a 4 way pot and managed to win

I'm sure there's a good reason why these guys only bet when they're behind and only check/call when they're ahead but I am having trouble figuring it out. Everyone calls every bet in these games. Doesn't it seem more profitable therefore to bet when you're ahead and check when you're behind?

The guy has MAJOR swings. Watched him a few days ago build up around 500k on 2 tables only to lose it over the next half hour. I will give him this though, hes alotta fun to rail

I'm also trying to figure out where the edge is. Just seems like every hand is a flip for 80-200K LOL.

I don't know why these guys don't play Omaha Hi-Lo, or Pot limit Hold'em. Seems like that's where the strat would be.

It is glorified flipping yes, you probably see better play at the 600-2000PL level at Stars tbh, the only reason to watch these games (like I do) is for the size of the pots.

I don't get it, do these guys actually make money?? If so how do they do it playing so horribly? I watch these hi stake games on FT and browse the forums only to see these types of HHs. They are not playing poker, they are pure gambling, shouldn't they be losing big money in the long run playing (calling huge raises) these medicore starting hands?

Someone please explain to me their reasoning, besides the fact that they have big time bankrolls and have balls and like to gamble.... other then that I don't see this as poker. Chasing draws for $70,000+ ??????

You don't have to be good, as long as there are worse players than you in the game you will win long term.
