No matter who the other player was in that hand he was 100% getting stacked, so his hissy fit didn't even make sense.

I think Andress and the rest of the table didn't even know what he was whining about initially and then when it finally became clear everyone was a bit taken aback. I think just saying nothing was the best way to handle it. Surprised anyone is siding with Bord's petulance here.
He was out of line but it clearly just stemmed from being frustrated as someone giving action and then having a mega nit he was about to stack two out him

He really didn't say anything nasty or malicious and his rant was a 1 on a 1 to 100 scale with helmuths rants being a 100

I’ll have to rewatch it, but I’m fairly sure Andress said something like “wow, really lucky...” and then someone else jumped in with the standard 1/2 comment “Bro! How’d you like that Ace bro!”

What’s he supposed to do, say the fake “Wow, sorry man...” crap?
Sorry 20/80 outflopped me and I ended up winning.

He looks so much better staying quiet, and letting the fish drop tears

Shows PH is actually very skilled handling this sort of stuff.
That's great but if PH has the 777 he would still be cursing about it to everyone

He handled it perfectly and Bord was the one out of line so not sure why you are so focused on Andress anyways.
Nah, ignoring just showed he didn't seem to understand the situation. So other people had to step in. It was not good for him, but being aggressive would be way worse indeed.

Okay Bord23.

Insisting someone leave the table cause they beat you in a hand is nasty and malicious.

Also don’t understand how you can deduce Andres is a “mega nit” based on like 20 televised hands. Unless you’ve played with him before or something, I didn’t see him make any nitty plays at all.

Well actually... that was exactly what they were asking for, him and his buddy Brandon. Asking Andres a couple of times to take some time for the "Sorry man" formalities, but Andres was oblivious, and the little guy Bordy pretty much told him to F off, by saying he shouldn't be there.

It's actually pretty hilarious, especially when Brandon Stevens has to shush Bordy a few minutes later, when he keeps ragging on.

Bord was obviously tilted about the hand, but I sympathise with his rant about the quality of the table. There were 4 very tough pros, PH, and then two other "fish," with one, Stevens, basically being a nit and the other, Daniels, actually being quite a good player - he's a bit spewy but that weird hand v Durrr aside he's played well, and you can tell from his sizing that he takes the game seriously.

I imagine he'd been promised a slightly better line-up, so to see Ivey go and be replaced by a literal RIO Elite pro must have been seriously tilting.

Like I said it's very low on the out of line scale and he was wrong but it's not the big deal you're making it out to be

And if you don't think this guy is playing super nitty for these stakes I'm not sure what you're watching

And then being two rivered by the Pro robot, who takes the high road and ignores his existence after the hand, without any sympathy lol.

+ him being the "friendly honour guy" throughout

The guy just lost it lol. He almost started crying coz of the rage. Andres prolly still doesn't know what happened.

Gonna rewatch it again.

Yeah obviously the beat was the trigger, and he looked whiny as hell, but the actual meat of what he was saying wasn't incorrect.

A great example of live "Skills" is how Dwan handels his win versus Brandon Stevens just after. Even shows him his hand. A true "poker gentleman".

Dwan is class, simple.

Fish trying to needle pros into playing looser is basically 80% of live poker, and when the fish is clearly tilted it's very rare to see pros do anything other than what Andress did: just smile and stay silent.

I wouldn’t be able to comment on how nitty he is playing, because sample size, obviously.

If you could point to one hand that would show any indication he is a mega nit, I’d appreciate it. Otherwise you are making a huge assumption based on nothing other than maybe how he looks.

Exactly
I've been on the receiving end of it myself usually in some crazy game where I've been super card dead and as long as it's coming from an action player it has never bothered me at all
Some people on here really need thicker skin

Now if some gto robot wants to complain about the game quality nobody should have to listen to that at all

Bord might be the worst player at the table but hes a self described poker pro who doesn't do anything for money except play poker.

He didn't even play fishy.

Literally the only time I ever say anything when playing live poker.
When the guy with the luggage sized backpack sits down, sets up his ipad, puts on the noise cancelling headphones, waits for the blinds to pass, etc... And then 40 minutes later starts complaining that the game sucks and starts stalking other tables looking for his teeny tiny edge

Oh god wait for the blinds to pass guy

Exactly it's infuriating when that happens
I was in a plo game last week 7 handed where 5 people didn't want to straddle, never rasied preflop, played almost no hands and then when one complains about the game sucking a few others also complained (not the 2 on their tablets) after the one guy really punting hard left

If you're part of the problem don't complain about it

Idk, really don't think there is that much to the Bord table talk - camera didn't show everything and he might have gotten a little out of line, but seemed pretty low on the bad behavior scale - certainly not unusual to see incidents like that in a cash game.

Hellmuth kk and qt hands were both butchered. I think he is still a net positive for the game, but the table talk can get excessive - if producers warn him or even mute him on broadcast think that might help.

I would have at least told Bord no one is holding a gun to his head to play at the table and that hes ruining the mood for everyone by reacting like that. Andress was completely spineless.
He should have got up and walked away $100k richer after playing 1 hand. Absolutely no one at the table would have blamed him, after all bord told him to leave. How sweet would that have been.

You have to realise this is a pokertable, not some schoolyard where you don't want to get bullied and constantly have to stand up for yourself.
Its not about being "alpha", its about not accepting to be treated like utter crap. Bord treated Andress like ****, I just dont see how you can sit there and take that. Bord seems like a good guy but for some reason he got genuinely upset (look how his demeanor changes as early as when the A hits and he realizes AA might have rivered him - maybe hes not rolled properly for the game or something). Im not saying you should aggressively get in Bord's face, just a genuine comment about how reaction is over the top, which it clearly is.

Most people will realize when they are out of line if someone points it out in a level headed manner. Ive seen it myself plenty of times on the table, just tell him sorry buddy, **** happened and you had me before the river, but youre out of line now. Then offer him a beer next time the waitress comes around.. problem solved for 3$.
