That has always been his playing style, at least in cash games. He’s living proof that people are right when they advice super tight players to talk a lot so they’re not perceived as nits. It’s over a decade since he quit playing online because his nitty style got him crushed in shorthanded LHE games.

His style is perfectly fine for heavy edited made-for-TV poker because there they can focus on the couple hands that he actually plays.

This lineup looks great to me. I agree in a perfect world it would be awesome to get Jamie Gold and Farha etc on there, but part of the reason those guys were good for the game was that they were not going to be keeping their money very long. It would be painful to see them nit it up and trying to eek out a few K win (which would be meaningful to them these days).

Dumps thousands? Well thats why he probably can't afford to play the stakes on this show anymore. He would need to be able to dump hundreds of thousands to get into this lineup. Not saying Gold is dead broke but based on the stakes we have seen him play in recent years (5/10 and 10/20) it seems like he is probably not wealthy enough to be playing HSP.

Search of 8th district court shows a lawsuit filed by the LLC in October last year, still pending, with an amended complaint filed in June.

I believe Olivier Busquet recently was talking about this, saying that in all his study of theory he keeps finding himself in spots where theory says to call down, but he consistently runs into top of range and no one bluffs.

Berkey has also said solvers don't really give you answers to live play. You can make assumptions on ranges and plug them into the solver, but then it is going to come up with an answer based on playing itself. You can't assume ranges, plug them into the solver, then say, now play this spot like a fish. So the solver is going to give you a theoretical answer, but if your opponent gives 0 ****s and just jams the river with a hand that had reason to be there with no pair, no blockers, then they are so far away from being theoretically sound that using the solver is pointless.

This is why every time Berkey plays it’s like watching a plane crash.

I was a little worried that the new HSP wouldn't be the same product as before. Now knowing they got Gabe back and were able to achieve a proper balance of must see players and business players, I think they have a chance of making something great. Preview was awesome. They need to get Dan Bilzerian on as well

Exploiting internet GTO wizards in a live setting is super easy, in fact I do it all the time. It's really simple. Recognize that they're playing better than everyone else in the casino and then just don't give them action and sit at literally any other table. EZ game EZ life.
