Well Orwell in 1984 specifically was talking about cognitive dissonance allowing for authority to dictate that things that patently can't be true are true, without any argument. I make a lot more than most "pros" make from my job. I just hate that anti social boring "pros" are ruining the games that used to be fun with their focus on squeezing every cent of EV out of the games. Nobody would care if the pros were honest. It is their lie of "we are doing it for the community" with the implication the community should root for them and support them that makes intelligent people despise them. What contempt they must have to think anyone would believe their lie.

There are other much more logical reasons why recs don’t like pros . Like I have already stated recs don’t want to play a card game for a living . Also only degenerates play for stakes that are meaningful to them, so we don’t really care if we lose money either . All the gambling options do that to us.

What important is we get to enjoy the experience and win at least occasionally. In live games nearly every grinder has been insufferable and miserable to play with , and there’s normally 5-6 at each table making the games nitty and awful

Online is even worse . With the army’s of mass tablers using all their scripts and HUDs and RTA and and stables ghosting etc etc

Seating scripts could be banned, but rake lowered anyway. I kind of understand where you come from. When it was time to move into the bumhunting stage, it wasn't for me. Systematic targeting feels bad. Then you don't have any business a bit up in the stakes.

But anyone entering know they can lose money, they pay for playing for example against the pros.
